Maybe Miles thought the option counted as a forward pass? I'm hearing that Harris believes he has the best arm in the SEC. Is that a sign that things are about to change, or did he accidentally get into some of Les' grass stash?
How much of that was when he throws? Did spring ball give you an idea that Cameron is going to open it up?
Basing that off last year. We seemed to throw bombs or bubble screens. Same story except for Mett. You probably already know this.
You no doubt caught that Arkansas joined the new world order last season. They struggled coming out of the gate but figured out the forward pass/running balance as the season progressed. They brought in OC Enos and quit throwing the short passing game that they were already accomplishing with their great rushing attack. Allen was chunking the rock pretty good and working the play action pass for all it was worth by the end of the season. They got dangerous.
Harris has the arm. Throwing the deep ball is easy. Throw it out and let the receiver run under it. Back shoulder passes are another thing. The passes in the flat can be deceiving. They look short but keep in mind the field is 53 yards from side to side so those can be longer than they appear. Having the arm, coupled with the touch, is what makes those harder, I suppose. Factor in the primary target is a back and not a receiver and that's another degree of difficulty. LF7 has VERY good hands and I hope to see us use him more here. He averaged 13 yards per reception on 19 catches last year.
If the problem is Harris it's making Cam look bad. If it's Cam's conservative approach, Harris is doomed. If it's both, I think Les may be done.
