CLM said in an article posted above that they will not be counting on Valentine being available. Sounds like he has academic issues.
This was one of the reasons I was disappointed in our DT recruiting this year. He will always be an academic risk and we can't bank on him contributing.
Great..... So I guess we can just completely toss out any hope we had that TV would add some depth and nastiness to the DL. Sucks...
The lack of depth hurts, but we saw the interior young kids greatly improve during the season last year. If their progression was that acute over the regular season I have high hopes for them with a full year under their belts. Keeping them fresh will be instrumental.
Valentine did not do what the Tiger staff told him he had to do in order to play. The young man needs to mature and realize he isn't in high school any longer.
Yup. Reports are that it looks like Brandon Harris got the message and is working harder. Valentine? Well, he need look no further than Rashard Robinson. He was probably our most gifted and talented corner with an NFL contract in his future and yet he couldn't stay on track. There's a whole lot of impressive kids out there that have the talent and ability to physically play on Sundays, but if you can't handle college at a place like LSU which has top of the line resources and the Cox center at their disposal, well, that might well prove that guy lacks the mental composure to be a professional and actually help a team. Your teammates can't depend on you if you can't handle simple responsibility. Coaches won't keep you around if you're a proven unreliable talent. Those guys get coaches fired.
Well, it may be tough for him to do something he just isn't capable of. I don't care how many stars are by his name, if he can't read you move on to the next guy.
