What has Arkansas done to rate higher than LSU? When has Ole Miss ever strung together more than 3 good seasons?
I hate to say, but there are a lot of reasons for ranking Arkansas ahead of LSU in 2015... Most of Arkansas' losses were very close (Alabama By One Point) and they were sure headed in the right direction at the end of the season... > After Beating LSU 17 / 0 > They Beat Ole Miss 30 / 0 > Lost To Missouri 14 / 21 > Finished the season by beating Texas 31 / 7 in the Texas bowl. LSU has 17 returning starters for 2015, but Arkansas is right behind with 16. http://cfbmatrix.com/2015-returning-starters/ And they have a proven successful quarterback.
With an a$$ raping of LSU on the 7 side. As long as LSU struggles to field a QB they will struggle to be respected by the talking heads. There is not a single person on the planet that has been able to explain why it's so hard for LSU to develop a QB more than once every ten years. Solve that problem and you wont have to worry about media types picking arkysaw ahead of LSU.
Mushchump is greatly overrated as a DC. Malzahn as much as dislike the arrogant prick has proven to be a damn fine OC and is doing pretty damn good as a HC. His problem is going to be keeping up in recruiting. The SEC has always been good, but has become absolutely brutal lately. SEC coaching staffs are littered with outstanding recruiters. Above average would rank at the bottom of the SEC. If he can upgrade recruiting there is no reason why he can't compete with Buma on a regular basis. No reason to rank the gumps ahead of AU just because they're the gumps. Miles will never get his head wrapped around the QB situation. Bama better watch out for AU and not worry about LSU, Miles will always have us competing for 3rd in the West.
This was the guy I was listening to on the radio last weekend, talking about LSU's lack of a pass rush.
Lack of a pass rush worries me, but not nearly as much as lack of QB play. We have enough quality athletes on D to partially make up for it. On O, nothing makes up for lack of a QB.
