Just another day in recruiting...This is just info from the FSU side after his visit this weekend. He at Ole Miss now and then headed to UCLA for the weekend.
Perhaps you could explain how the kids from minority neighborhoods make up the majority of LSU's roster then?
its not a general statement, I am referring to the kids who leave the state, like Landon Collins and his brother, speedy, etc.
You feel that they find comfort, blending in with the whiteness of schools like Alabama and Texas A&M? 12% of students at Bama are black. At TAMU it's less than 5%. At LSU it is 11%. I don't find any school to have an edge there, although I might prefer to stay away from the school that once publicly made a stand against racial integration.
As far a local sentiment, sure. You may imagine just how bad a rap Grambling and Southern get in white neighborhoods. But it ain't the 50's anymore. The generations that lived during true segregation are getting old. I think the young recruits today can see that the big SEC schools with their Confederate-American student bodies and fan bases have offered a lot of big opportunities to African-American athletes.
you are not hearing what I am saying, they live in Louisiana, they wouldnt really be attuned whats going on at other schools, Im not saying its right for them too feel this way, I think it is ignorance, everyone in my family is an LSU fan even though I am the only family to go to school at LSU, others went to UL, McNeese, ULM etc.
