Sure Skipper, I understand the fine distinction of full-auto. But even the US military M-16 is no longer full-auto. In modern colloquial terms and as defined by the 1980's federal law banning new sales of them, the AR-15 is described as an assault rifle. It is unquestionably a military weapon design, not a hunting weapon, and its high-capacity magazines, short stock, and high-velocity round distinguish it from other military rifles like a Springfield or a Garand. Don't get me wrong, I do not favor an assault weapons ban, but neither am I shy about calling it what it is. I do favor better background checks and basic registration of military-type weapons.
HWR and I already got it figured out. I'm not clinging to anything and had you read my post you would have saw that I said I didn't care either way. My issue was with the news. Its all good.
I'm trying to figure out what Fox News got out of saying there was an assault rifle. I thought he just used a pistol.
