And what did Putin do to avoid this? He talked his ally into giving up the WMD's! We win without loss of American lives or treasure. Putin and Assad had to back down on the issue. And if Obama had just bombed the WMD's instead, you would be bitching that he was getting us into another war. The entire republican political strategy over the past five years is "everything Obama does we are against". Not much of a platform for 2016 when Obama will be gone.
But it helps immensely! Take off the blinders and try to get a broad view. If it reduces crazies getting guns to 10% of what exists now, it would be huge! If it restricts guns in households where crazies live, it might just reduce it even more.
