Not on LF's part, IMO. I didn't see Adams' announcement, but LF said 'University of', then he purposely paused, and put on the LSU hat. To me, he intended to do that. Besides, what kid (besides Adams) grows up in LA and doesn't know it's LSU and not U of LSU? Yeah, he point blank admitted in his interview that he HATED the recruiting process and when he announced, you could almost tell it was a relief for him.
I HIGHLY recommend that every LSU fan read this article: http://lsu.247sports.com/Article/Fo...-ranked-high-school-commitment-for-LSU-169815 Fournette’s 247Sports prospect rating is a 101 - the highest numerical category in the ratings system. The tier is described as a “franchise player” and "one of the best players to come along in years, if not decades. Odds of having a player in this category every year is slim. This prospect has 'can’t miss' talent.”
Something that seems kind of rare these days is that he could of made this recruiting process a complete sideshow especially with how highly he is rated. He has always been a Tiger and everyone else never got close to making him change those feelings. He also did things to show his appreciation to guys on his team who won't get the chance to take trips and go to camps and gave his "swag" to those guys. I would say he brings even more leadership abilities than what we have seen from Brandon Harris which I think is saying a lot.
We got some tremendous young kids coming to LSU. I'm no longer upset with these other kids who were shady with their recruiting leading the coaches on.
You know, for as highly sought-after as he was, this is very true. One of the biggest recruits of our lifetime and the whole thing was relatively quiet, a far cry from the circuses that these guys tend to turn these things into. That's quite commendable. It's hard to blame 17 & 18 year old kids for getting lost in their own hype. Leonard was mysterious, but only because he played it so close to the vest and had his mind made-up so early on.
What's even more stunning to me is how a kid keeps it quiet for that long to honor his word to the people at Under Armour.
