Too much hype plugged into these recruiting situations. Great OL. One of the best in the country. He's going where he wants to go. He earned that. Best of luck to the young man in everything he does. Just don't understand all the fan angst when a young man chooses one University over the other. Not your decision. It's theirs. End of story. Wish the man good luck and move on. Afterall, the last time I looked, he wasn't the only good OL in the country looking for a place to play college football. And last time I counted, there were 11 players on that offense. One player can make a difference but he can't do it alone. One more newsflash ... Saban can recruit and he has the prestige to pull just about anyone he wants into his program. Miles and his staff are no slouches either. LSU has done a pretty fine job over the years getting high quality players and competing very well against the Tide. With the exception of the NC Game where we laid an egg, the series between these two teams is pretty tight since Saban arrived in T-Town (4-3). If you watched last year you will recall the series is only 4 points and 90 seconds away from being 4-3 LSU. Bottom line ... even with their stellar recruiting, Bama is not pulling away from or dominating the Tigers. So take a breath, relax and realize that one young man's commitment to another school is not the end of the CFB world. There's plenty of time between now and February 2014 and the last time I checked, the Tigers weren't doing too badly with the talent they are recruiting. To me, overreacting to this in either direction would be like celebrating the score at halftime.
Depth chart was more favorable to him at Bama. Said that all along. I get it. I'm sure Les does too. You always hate to lose a home state kid you really wanted to Bama, but IMO, they need him more than we do. Don't be shocked if Hootie follows him. We may lose the Monroe triumvurate but clean sweep New Orleans. I'll take that. Best of luck to him in every game except the first Saturday in November.
Quite possible his parents saved money for him to go to college. Now that he has a scholly they bought him a truck. Or not...
He and Nick are both Ford guys while Les is a Caddy man. The things that sway these recruits may be as simple as this.
Bama needs him....they got him. We didn't NEED Cameron Robinson. Don't get me wrong, any team could use a talent like Cameron Robinson on their O-line.....but based on what I saw on Saturday, Bama needs him a bit more than LSU does. As for Fournette, Bama does not need him.....LSU does. That said, if we get Fournette, then it's all good. If we lose Fournette, however....then we might have a small problem.
That has been said a few times in this thread, we didn't need him. Who the heck do you guys have down on the bayou so that this is the truth? I would have testified in court you just lost your LT to concussions. Am I missing some kind of offensive pipeline to the NFL so that this kid is not a priority? (These will be the kind of discussions we will enjoy for hours when we start hanging out.)
LSU needed Robinson, but will be just fine without him. Had a chance to be a Tiger, now he's just Tiger Bait!
