Bama's athletic site has him with with 3 solo tackles and 2 assisted tackles for a total of 4. Apparently assisted tackles only count for 1/2 credit, but I'd call it 5 too. Five tackles on eight returns is pretty good, but you have to admit 209 yards and two touchdowns on six returns is a lot better than pretty good at first glance. My question is whether Collins did contribute enough on special teams in areas that don't show up in the box score to be a legitimate co-player of the week or is Bama in the habit of handing out multiple awards, such as a hockey team award their 'Three Stars' or an offensive and defensive special team mvp. Could it be they didn't want Jones to walk away with all the awards, since he was the obvious game mvp? @TUSKtimes Help me understand.
All I know is that Micah Eugene has outplayed Collins thus far at this point and he had to fight for playing time as well behind Eric Reid and Craig Loston. Whatever the excuse may be, the results speak for themselves. I guess rings are cool for guys who sit their ass on the bench while the rest of the team earns it for you, but he knows he had no part in it.
One thing for sure, There's getting to be a boat load of Louisiana boys to ask how those national championships feel.
Yes, but if that actually stopped someone, I would have had no one to reply to, to begin with. Odd you completely whiffed on that?
I'm home. Even now, red and the gang are making special arrangements for my soon to be, 3000th post on TigerFan. Even though I thoroughly enjoyed by previous gift, a lovely set of heavy duty, picnic cutlery, for my 1000th verbal contribution, I understand somethings is in the works concerning tickets, plane fare and mod rights. Stay tune.
