An African-American placekicker, first in LSU's history. Ranked 9th in Kohl's kicker rankings for 2014. http://kohlskicking.com/recruiting/national-rating-system/kickers/2014 From Flower Mound, TX. Welcome aboard young man.
They are letting blacks play kicker now?!?!??! There goes the neighborhood!!! I kid, i kid Here's what kicking guru Chris Sailor wrote about him on Mar 5, 2013: Nike Spring Camp Tour in Dallas, TX Every time we head to Texas, I expect to see as much, if not more talent than anywhere in the country. As always, specialists traveled in from all over the nation to compete at the highest level. ... 2014 Standouts Cameron Gamble (TX): Cameron is as talented as any kicker in the nation. He has a huge leg and hits a big time ball. Cameron always competes at the highest level. On this day he was by far the most impressive on kickoffs, hitting a wind aided 85 yard, 3.85 second kick.
Another prospect plucked from Texas, my favorite OOS "stealing field." Can I get an "Amen!"? Anyone surprised we didn't get a place kicker from the land down under? I'm tempted to go look at other boards and see if there is any silly bickering about Cameron Gamble's "offer list."
I've heard some people question why we would offer a kicker a scholly in the 1st place. To me, I think it's great: last year our kicking game was inconsistent and the Bama game 2 years ago illustrates why we need a sound kicking game. 3 points needs to be damn near automatic when you can't get 7.
