LSU didn't even know about this young man until recently evidently, flew under the radar. Not sure what he did in his first season at HC as a junior but I guess not enough to get noticed. And I'm guessing he didn't attend any major college camps last summer. I wonder if LSU took notice of him while evaluating another player, that has happened many times in the past.

LSU has had their eyes on him for a while but remember he only played one football season. Basketball player previously.

"The first game of the playoffs, we noticed
some LSU coaches at the game," Kamlade
said. "The next day, we heard that (LSU
    recruiting coordinator) Frank Wilson was
in town and he was at all the schools.
Then he called Coach Barry and said 'I've
been to every school today and the only
place people are telling me to come is
    here. Who is No. 9?'"

"Frank came over and asked me why we
hadn't heard about this kid," Barry Wilson
said. "We told him about being a
basketball player not wanting to play
football. Once he looked at the film, Frank
said this guy was great. They couldn't
believe his size. He's right up there at 6-3,
and he's just going to get bigger and
    better."
