Once again Bama gets the free ride and LSU gets the tough luck. In 2012 LSU had an easy east opponent dropped and SCAR added. The exact same weekend Bama was given MO. To keep it fair, it is obvious to anyone outside of Bama that LSU should have gotten MO and Bama should have had SCAR. Well guess what, SCAR was exactly what we needed, and the win put us right back in the BCS race. In 2013, LSU plays east opponents FL and GA, while Bama will be truly tested by the powers of TN and KY! Well, the tough schedule will help LSU, even if we split them, like we split FL and SCAR this year. BRING IT!
I'm much more the advocate of the 9 SEC game schedule. But even if the league office could muster the courage to add a game, it's a little more balanced for everyone. Plus each player, in their 4 years, would have an opportunity to play every SEC team at least once, which would be cool.
Full 2013 Schedule: Sat, Aug 31 TCU at Arlington, Texas (Cowboys Stadium) Sat, Sep 07 UAB Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) Sat, Sep 14 Kent St. Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) Sat, Sep 21 Auburn * Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) Sat, Sep 28 Georgia * at Athens, Ga. (Sanford Stadium) Sat, Oct 05 Mississippi St. * at Starkville, Miss. (Davis Wade Stadium) Sat, Oct 12 Florida * Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) Sat, Oct 19 Ole Miss * at Oxford, Miss. (Vaught-Hemingway Stadium) Sat, Oct 26 Furman Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) Sat, Nov 09 Alabama * at Tuscaloosa, Ala. (Bryant-Denny Stadium) Sat, Nov 23 Texas A&M * Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) Sat, Nov 30 Arkansas * Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) * Conference Games I wish the athletic department would quit scheduling home games like UAB, Kent, Furman, etc. That really is a disservice to season ticket holders.
Next year may be a good time to get GA. They open with Clemson and So Carolina before getting to play LSU. Also, Alabama has the toughest opponent....they have to play LSU.
So we get 5 SEC games in a row (3 of those on the road) this season, and our east opponents are Florida and Georgia, while Bama has 3 SEC games in a row (2 of those at home) and their east opponents are Tennessee and Kentucky. What a load of bullshit.
