with just 27 seconds left in the game, on FOURTH DOWN, Oklahoma is down by 5 in front of a hostile West Virginia crowd at Mountaineer Field. they need 3 yds for the 1st Down, and 5 yds for the TD, who do they go to??? KENNY STILLS!!!
#1 Oklahoma at #5 Florida State, 2011. It's a 13-13 tie with 7:00 left in the 4th QB... who catches the game-winning TD??? KENNY STILLS!!! Oklahoma went up 20-13 on Stills' TD catch, and would later add a FG with 2 min left to win the game 23-13. That Florida State CB #5 he beat is then-junior Greg Reid, a 5-star CB recruit who had 2 INTs vs Florida that season (as a recruit, he was #15 on the ESPN150, #27 on the Rivals150, #56 on the Scout150, a Parade All-American, Under Armour All-American, the AAAAA Georgia Player of the Decade, etc) Reid missed all of last season with a torn ACL, and just before the 2013 Draft, they discovered that his ACL was still torn and he's scheduled to undergo a 2nd ACL surgery to fix it next week (which he'll need another 6-7 months to recover from)
this is an awesome shot...filmed by somebody right there on the sideline: in the Red River Rivalry, "Stills scores the touchdown, but play gets called back because of a flag!"
check out the NFL Legacy of the Stills family... WR Kenny Stills, enters the NFL as a Saint His father, FS Ken Stills. here's a video the Packers did on him: Packers.com -- Alumni Spotlight: Ken Stills His uncle, LB Gary Stills, was a Pro Bowler (2003) for the Chiefs during his ten-year NFL career
Oklahoma blogger on Stills: - was one of my favorite players - Maybe the best way to think of Stills is as a spread version of a possession receiver. He's fast and does a good job finding holes in coverage within 10-15 yards of the line of scrimmage. - He's also a threat downfield - using his speed to blow by corners on go routes. - his blocking. OU is as good a team as you'll find in college football at schooling the wideouts as blockers. Watching Stills, it seems pretty clear that he actually enjoys blocking, and the Sooners were able to spring a number of big plays thanks to him doing the dirty work on the perimeter.
