I tried every station but 105.3 on TuneIn Radio, and all I could hear was NBA Bull Sh--. No football. I even tried Sirius 91 in my car, ans all I heard was a program on horse racetracks. THis really sucked. No TV. and No radio. I realize I'm in Ohio, but I got all these stations on TuneIn and not a one was braodcasting anything but basketball. Did I have to be in Louisiana?
O-H! (you say I-O!!) Haha I kid. I have no idea. Love your passion and how you're fiending for LSU football, though
Some, not all of what I saw. All the QB's looked so much better in the pocket. Better with the throws. Great tempo and feel for the game. A few things stood out. Mett made a few throws that he didn't last year. Looked well in the pocked, went through progressions. Set his feet well and made what was given. Rivers looks so much better than last, he was 7-10 for 185 yds. and 2 TD's. He too made some really good throws. Jennings looked to throw first, then move around, then tuck the ball and run. Had a nice feel in the pocket, as did all the QB's. Magee Avg. 8.7 ypc, the year at WR helped his hands, looking at warmups, hes a guy that can help. Runs well, blocks well, does all the little things needed. Jeremy Hill was the guy, the sky is the limit for him. 103 yds. rushing and can catch the ball. Looked even a little stronger than last year. Copeland as always, looks for people to hit. Had a good TD run from 6 yds. out. WR looks to be the deepest position, OBJ is too good along with Landry. Both had 6 receptions, OBJ with 202 yds. and Landry with 132 yds. Travin Dural moved well out there after last year, cut and ran well. Looks like when he was playing at BB. A good catch for 45 yds and a TD. K. Boone still looks good and is a solid guy. All the WR's blocked well downfield. TE's, Dillon Gordon had a 15yd. TD reception, a big kid that can also block with the best of them. Remember, he came out of John Curtis. Travis Dickson is one that had a great game against Old Mrs. 5 catches for 69 yds. The other two TE's last year, Jacobs and Clement each had 5 catches for the year, an Dickson had that many in one game. Dickson will get his shot this year along with DeSean Smith in the Fall when he gets to LSU. On the OL, the starting OC for the White team was Pocic, you can tell the staff is pushing him to get ready and he is responding. Moved well along the line. I think the staff likes where he is at this time. The other side of the ball: Ego and Freak will make a great tandem, too fast and strong. Ego ended with 7 tackles and Freak with 5. Both had a QB hurry. Ego had a TFL with Freak a half of a TFL. DE's Danielle Hunter lead both sides with 8 tackles and was all over the field, sideline to sideline. He also had 2 sacks-TFL's. Rasco sat out, so hes one that will be ready for next year. Jordan Allen is another DE that looked good, a big kid that needs to stay healthy, if so, could make some waves this Fall. Ronnie Feist was moved to DE and did well at the new position. LB'ers, this is the deepest part for this side of the ball, thats why Feist moved to DE. The LB'ers on this team are fast, quick and can move. Too much talent, you can see why Kwon Alexander was starting before the injury, he lead the purple team in tackles (With 7). Debo Jones is another one that covers the field. Looks like Chief with bring these guys in as to a down and distance. You know Barrow, Tahj and Welter can also play with the best of them. DB's, with Mills out a couple players looked well, Holmes, Sandolph, Eugene and Dwayne Thomas. Thompson and Loston are two that will cover and hit. Thompson looks good in pass coverage, moves well for a big kid. Loston plays so well when healthy, hope he stays that way. Loston had an INT, he would do well to down it in the end zone. Holmes, Welter and Alexander all had 2 Passes broken up each. In all the defense looks good once the full 11 hit the field, depth on the line will be addressed in the Fall. Quentin Thomas maybe one that can spell a little time, he finished with 3 tackles, .5 Sacks and 2.5 TFL. LaCoutrue is young, but he too is being pushed by the staff and has responded well. Special Teams, punting with Keehn is really good, good hang time, good distance. 1-3 in FG's, hope it doesn't come down to this. They still have time to get it. But remember this, many times this is mental. I trust this is one thing that will be worked on. Cam allowed the QB at times to call there own plays. He wanted to see what they had learned during the Spring. He wanted to see if they could manage a game. Down and distance, clock, etc. Now its time for them to go over the tape and move on from there. In all great game. I sat in a suite with a bunch of friends and one of the states well known high school coaches. This coach won 256 games for right at a 70% clip. Coached for 34 years. We had a good talk after the game. He too liked what he saw in this Spring Game. Cam didn't show a lot, but I did like what I saw. It will only get better.
Can Les finally have that perfect combination of quarterbacks that served us so well in 2007 with Mettenberger and Jennings, spelling 8 every now and then to give us some mobility at the position?
And btw, Jennings is just as impressive in the pocket as he is outside it, looking off receivers, and his decision making is great for his age.
Would you like me to see if I can get my hands on a DVD of it for you? I hope the people in front of you didn't stand the whole time.
[quote="lsutiga, post: 1328219, member: 8856" I hope the people in front of you didn't stand the whole time. [/quote] Nope. Like I said, nice look to the field.
Info on the game........ http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2013/04/lsu_quarterback_take_advantage.html A small note: Every passing play has a deep route, so line up a corner, then decide if you need help with a Safety. I like what I saw today. The WR's are running better routes, its showing. Two guys we should see in the Fall. DeSean Smith and Jeryl Brazil, I could see these two working well in this type of offense. Both would create mismatches.
