Good lord. Mills & Thompson look like animals in that drill. Mills literally just threw like 10 dudes to the ground, and Thompson just ran through them like Earl friggin' Campbell. No idea what Mills was saying, but I'd be jacked as hell, too if I had just done what he did. Better check that dude for deer-antler spray!
What I like about this latest Big Cat is that there seem to be very few decisive victories. You see guys, after losing that initial contact, doing a pretty good job of holding their ground.
Back on Mar 15, after the 2nd day of practice, Les said: "I think our defense is maybe going to be ahead of where we were at different times a year ago." On the offense, he said: "It is not necessarily finished with the players. What has to happen is the offense has to accomplish it. It is a challenge to them and I think they are really enjoying the challenge."
From the LSU spring practice blog: March 21, 2013 Elliott Porter is back at practice and working as the starting center. Now, it's about finding a left guard. The options here seem to be Josh Williford or Jonah Austin. I talked to Williford on Tuesday and he said his goal this spring is to learn every position so he can jump in wherever he is needed. ... Running back Alfred Blue is still wearing a green jersey, meaning no contact, but is taking No. 1 reps at the position, followed by sophomore Jeremy Hill . ... When I spoke with Blue on Tuesday, I could tell how excited he was to be back on the field ...Hill also said it was great to have Blue back on the field, which brings their whole group back together again. One of the tidbits I keep hearing this practice season is about the play of quarterback Anthony Jennings. Multiple teammates have told me really good things about him, sometimes even pausing in hopes of coming up with words to describe him. I have seen Jennings out there and can attest to what everyone else is saying. Junior wide receiver Jarvis Landry gave the freshman praise and put the thought out there that a redshirt might not be used on Jennings.
