Some comments from Tiger fans on that video: DH looks like a total monster Danielle Hunter is a manbeast. Hunter made me legitimately scared. Hunter! damn..hunter stood out the most to me as well, and I didnt know his number when I watched. i said to myself, "who is 94?" then looked him up Hunter looked really good hope it translates to the field, also love the fact that the Freak is taking a leadership role and looked damn good. Hunter looked like the next big name at DLU Hunter is just special. Even as a fan on the sideline you almost flinch watching him run and hit something Damn Hunter looks like a freak. Rasco looked pretty quick out there too. I think our DE's will surprise some people this year. Anthony Johnson is gonna hurt some people this year... Ego looked quick Allen needs to get rid of the green jersey ASAP. He looks good coming off the knee injury. Allen trying to be the next chase Pittman?? I like Jordan Allen's size. It's his time to step up. The DL look like straight monsters Corey Thompson looked like a beast holy crap Blue is like a condor. Avery Johnson looks very fast. Who is #2? Avery Peterson Came to post the same question. Idk if it was the number but reminded me of RR Jennings has an ultra quick release this is one of the first things i noticed as well I just started crushing on Jennings... Dude looks good and has a quick cannon I was gonna post the same thing. Is it too early to get excited about Jennings. Quick release with accuracy and mobility... Love the back shoulder passing drills...If done correctly..it's almost impossible to defend Definitely seems to be a lot more noise going on for the qBs and WRs which is a good sign. Coach Cameron is definitely vocal and not playing around this team looks pissed I really think this team is going to surprise a lot of people who are discarding them due to their youth I actually feel sorry for TCU. we are unbeatable Look really good to me.
Does anyone know why Elliot Porter wasn't at practice yesterday? I read Williford and Pocic were getting the reps at center and Porter was absent.
The guys gonna be a good one. Spending time in Tx talking with a few coaches there and seeing him play his Sr. year. The kid will have a chance to play on Sundays.
I like the idea of a fast-playing offense. It has worked for some very good teams recently. LSU is loaded with the kind of talent and speed that can take advantage of such an offense, especially with the conditioning that we have and the depth that we are used to. I hope that depth develops rapidly this season. We lost too many stars and starters not to have some serious drop-off.
It might just be me, but i think with the past few years having so many underclassmen shining has given way to the youth taking full advantage of trying to compete for an impact spot early on. Most schools develop a player over 3-4 years and the 3rd/4th year being the good ones. We are getting kids at LSU making a mark from DAY 1. The intensity has improved.
Day One practice notes from observer... Zach Mettenberger looked on point and backup Stephen Rivers was looked really good as well. Both players have made big strides with their development over the past year. True freshmen quarterbacks Anthony Jennings and Hayden Rettig got their first on-field reps in an LSU uniform and showed that they both belong at LSU but that they also have a lot to learn before getting under center in a college game. ... Freshman Ethan Pocic , along with Williford, took reps at center, while junior La'el Collins took his first reps at left tackle. Like I said before, this is only practice one, meaning things will still change. We saw last year that there needs to be versatility on the line where players can jump in at other positions when needed, and there already appears to be some cross-training going on with the group this spring. ... watch out for freshman Christian LaCouture as spring progresses. Strength and conditioning coordinator Tommy Moffitt said he is a very mobile guy and came in working hard from day one. LaCouture, a high school defensive end, looks like he will fit in just fine as an athletic tackle in the rotation. ... Lamin Barrow was back at weakside linebacker, while Tahj Jones worked out at strongside linebacker. D.J. Welter was also back on the field and lined up as middle linebacker, though watch for Barrow to test his hand at the position this spring ... The leader for this year's defensive backs unit will definitely be senior safety Craig Loston . There are a lot of young guys at this position, and I think there definitely needs to be a vocal person like Loston around this group. Jalen Mills and Jalen Collins took reps at cornerback, while Loston and Ronald Martin took the safety role.
Great video. I hope this team is hungry and comes into the season with a chip on their shoulder much like the 2011 team did, even though they were considered young. I am liking the Cam Cameron hire more and more every day....
