I do not think 8-4 is an unrealistic expectation considering the youth, lack of proven depth, new OC (yet to prove it will be his offense over CLM) and the most difficult schedule in the nation. You mention UF, @UGA, A&M, @BAMA, but @OLE MISS and TCU are no gimme's...... That's 6 games that the majority of teams across the country would easily lose. Now, I am not saying 8-4 set it in stone, just that their are some ??'s needing answers, just as we have pretty much every year at the end of July.

The offense at LSU the past 5 years has always been a huge question mark, so nothing new there. But now, especially after watching our young defense get torched the last 4 games of the season / giving up over 300 yards passing in each of those games, (and over 400 yards total offense in the final 3 games) - definitely has me concerned about that side of the football as well.

To look at where this offense is going with Cam, look at the players offered at LSU camps. Read his resume. Look at where Les is during practice, talk with people at Spring practice. If you look at what Cam has done over the years, you'll see what he plans to do. Remember this, we lost 3 games last year by a total of 13 points, any form of an offense, we could have won those three As for the 400 yds. in game, we put up over 400 on S. Carolina, an they were one thought to have one of the better D's in the SEC/Nation.

The defense was still doing well last year, on the field too often due to 3 and outs, back to the offense. Also you a few players that needed a thumb on them most of the year. Not gonna name names. Look at starts from last year, that will tell you something.

This year I see an offense that will keep people honest (8 in the box, please). Control the ball and clock, down field when needed. A better use of the passing tree. More use of the TE's and RB's. Les has never had any problem turning over the offense to someone who knows what to do with it, ask Jimbo. Krags was to have this before the health problems. Every defense has a weakness, Cam will exploit it. If people think Cam is coming in to run the same offense, they are mistaken.

Go look at the players lost to the draft, before the season and during the season last year, tell me another team that had anything close to what we had and won 10 games?

I would be surprised if Rasco doesn't have his breakout season this year.

Hunter has all the tools to be the next great DE at LSU, we shall see.

We are gonna have guys step up and we're gonna have a great defense. Again.

When Honey Badger was kicked off the team, we wondered how we would do without him. Oh we did quite well without him.

The success of this season will all depend on how #8 does behind center.

Guess some may have got this story before. I made a few games in Tx when Hunter was playing for Morton Ranch in Katy, Tx. In the same district is Katy Taylor High, the head coach there is a good friend of mine, Flint Risen. I asked Flint about Hunter, he told me the kid could play, also LSU did well getting him. The night I watch Danielle play, he was a TE and DE, also played Special Teams, everything he did, he did well. I remember one play one player from each team started fighting/pushing, Danielle got between them and pulled his teammate away. After having a talk with his teammate, the teammate went back to football. Flint told me that all they could do was try and slow him down, he knew there was no way to stop him. After I saw Danielle play a few times, I saw a player that could play both sides of the ball, had the frame to add weight and would be a good player at LSU.

A little about my friend Flint, he has a brother named Cody who played in the NFL for 11 years. During an NFL football game that Frank Gifford was on the broadcast team, Cody got something in his eye, play was stopped and his eye was flushed. Kathie Lee Gifford was at home pregnant and kept hearing Frank say the name Cody. When Frank returned home, Kathie Lee asked him if the child was a boy, what did he think about the name Cody. Well the baby was born and it was a boy, Kathie Lee Gifford did named her son after Cody Risien, coincidentally both Cody's were born on March 22.
