I figure Quentin Thomas will be a good third dt. But we need a 4th guy like Anthony Johnson was in 2011 as a true. Looking back at 11 I believe blockers and Logan were the top guys with j downs undersized as the 3rd guy and and Johnson was able to come in and give us depth. If Christian or Gilmore or Bain can be that 4 then we can be really close at dt compared to 11! De, rasco will rock and hunter looks like ken Adams all over again. Jordan Allen does great in the big cat standing up much heavier guys so he's gonna be a very good 3 so we need one more guy to complete us here so I think we're close to being very good again. I was just curious about some of the new guys in particular frank Herron who I've heard is 280ish. If that's the case he may be able to play a lot of snaps at dt as well. just my opinion.
Great Question to pose. We have been a top ranked defense not only by the quality of players we have had, but by the quantity. We have known for a while, if we keep it close in the first half, we will wear down the other team and win the game. The only other defense to do this has been the rednecks from the hick state. We are facing the first season were we do not have the depth we have been accustomed to having. This is the biggest question LSU faces. Our offense should actually be better this year. Can the young players make an immediate impact? I predicted we will lose four games this year. The only thing that will make me incorrect is the unknown of the players that are coming in. Hopefully they are great right away. I do not see it yet! 8-4 would not be a bad year.....considering all the players we lost. Love how the media is setting us up as a top 25 team???? Need to see allot more to convince me otherwise.
No way we drop 4 !! I don't know what LSU team you been following but we are in better shape Offensively than we have been in years and with Cam on board we should be far more productive . Defensively we are young but still loaded with plenty of players that may not have started but have plenty of playtime under their belts. Add a class coming in with lots of players pushing for early playtime and we are loaded !! Have faith!! We are LSU!!!
It's been a long time since we counted on our offense to win games, but this might just be the year. If we could just count on our offense to stay on the field and give the defense a breather, that by itself could make this year's defense look better than last year's.
Ain't no way we're dropping all 4 to UF/UGA/Gumps/A&M. We'll make Johnny Foozball look very mediocre at home, and Florida doesn't have an offense that will let them run away with the game in our house.
