Easy there, cowboy. We did win the season series against State, but this is the 2nd season. ANYTHING can happen. These teams are so evenly matched that it's not going to surprise me no matter who wins. Hopefully, it's us, as I truly believe we are the best team. However, as everyone knows, the best team doesn't always win. Just ask Vandy or Virginia.

    I understand all of that.

But believe me, these are the preferred teams we need to move forward.

If LSU wins tonight, they are the national champions.

That's how big this game is tonight. We are not losing to NC State.

Its too bad we play with dead bats in a long ball killer park... Ibarra should've had a HR... good thing we play lights out defense.

Did they just say.only 3 teams in the last 32 years (a whole generation) that.lost their game one in the CWS went on to win it all? That's lower than I'd have imagined

I certainly don't like Eades pitching a win or you go home game. Too much pressure on the kid and I don't like my chances. I would prefer we sit him.

Although he would have to pitch the 3rd game, so it probably doesn't matter.

TF, you need to get a healthier definition of hero. Clutch performing athletes may have memorable, surreal moments that are to be appreciated, but continuously putting them in the category of heroic is, in my view, not appropriate or healthy.

Reninds me of the thread i saw a couple days ago on a Saints forum. A guy was gushing about how he waited in line to meet the players after practice and said:

Got 8 graphs total coach, jabari, joe morgan,
luke mccown, nick toon, kenny stiills told him
congratulations, Lance Moore and My idol of
course Dreeeeewwwwww brees got my jersey
and ball signed first time in my life i was star
struck wanted to tell him he was my idol, but
froze and told him he was my hero he told me
thanks alot that means alot to me.
I felt corney but was one of the most amazing
    days of my life.

    And someone replied:

My amazing day is when I meet Jesus, that is my
hero and idol, not a man who throws a football.
Although as a life long Saints fan, I cant say I
    wouldn't react like you.

As for me, i just got to hang out for a night with a couple current LSU football stars (both of whom i have already made entire threads on here about where i raved about them, and got mocked by one of the regular posters here for doing so in one of them, which isn't the first time that's happened)

Anyway, they both hung out with me all night and we just hung out like i would with any other new friend i meet. I didn't ask for their autograph or anything like that. Sure, we mostly talked LSU football, just like i do when hanging out with any other friend that is passionate about LSU football, and i learned a lot

The way i explain sports to people that aren't into sports is that it's like any other epic drama: the great movies, the great works of literature, etc full of heroes and villians and glory and tragedy. But at the end of the day, it's just a movie, it's just a game, etc

But if i go on a movie discussion forum, or a literature discussion forum, I'm going to rave about all the greatness, including the heros, same as on a sports forum
