I could definitely see Blue as a WR.

    Thank You...

I've been saying this for your.

You put on any footage of James Wright, high school, or his brief LSU career, the dude knows how to go and get the football. He is a true WR.

And Landry has the best hands I've ever seen for a kid coming out of high school. Chris Carter like hands.

Odell, Jarvis and James as a starting 3 doesn't bother me at all.

And this kid Dural from Breaux Bridge is the real deal as well.

    P. Turner is a great athlete, and Fobbs has blazing speed. LSU has the athletes at every position, they are just buried on the depth chart.

I'm not worried about our receivers. I just wanted to have the pleasure of watching RR catch 80 balls for 1500 yards and 17 TD's.

I' sure the lost stings, and was totally embarrassing as an offensive player. But the best financial decision for RR would be to return. In my opinion, a year from now, he'd be going in the top 10, instead of in the second round.

Especially considering this class of WR.

    Blackmon
    Jeffery
    Floyd

All have better game film than RR. Next year he'd be the #1 WR prospect heading in, playing for the #1 team.

We haven't thrown many fade routes (or thrown the ball at all) lately to utilize a taller WR to his full capacity. ;)

Besides....The Patriots lack WR's with any real height. Not like Wes Welker and Deon Branch are pushing 6 feet!

Precision running routes creates seperation just the same. "Tall" WR's simply protect QB's from poorly thrown balls or "jump balls" in the endzone.

    I like 2 Tight Ends!!

It seems obvious to me, that LSU could use a few 2 tight end set plays as the Saints and Patriots are both readyly employing for many reasons, besides catching the ball! Slants, screens, and down field catches/with blocking as an added option for other receivers, tight ends are a mismatch for most defenses! They should also be hard to stop when executing their assigned task and should not be jammed, due to their shear size.Dual tight ends works for every team that use them!!:insane:

You need strong, physical tight ends with good hands for that to work on a regular basis. 2 TE sets work for the Saints because Jimmy Graham and Lance Moore are fearless. Peterson is a big target, but the knock on him has always been that he played soft.

5+ tight ends on the roster!!

I see at least 5 tight ends listed on the roster that are on the team, I would hope, for being more than a blocking dummy. Let's see who can catch a ball and block, and use them, "for a change"! Tight ends have been used very rarely in "LSU's past" and they can be a relief for a throwing QB. If they were used, it was usually in a 1 tight end set, and they were soon forgotten. LSU needs to make the strong tight ends feared by all opponents. If our tight ends can't catch, make linemen of them with more groceries and work, as what was needed this year, if we were to truly "handle the gump".
Shoot, if they can't get the job done, look for a "fridge"/ light tackle, big linebacker, etc. or someone that can. Personally, I don"t think every thing "big" has hard hands and know that the contrary is the case!
The line was the problem and would be why we didn't see JL throwing straight up off of his back foot. I do agree with leaving Jefferson in, with maybe the exception of a series/chance in the third quarter of the BCS championship, but I'm sure the for-mentioned behavior of JL, would again have been the case. I also don't know why JJ never developed, but he does have the physical tools to have been a great quarterback; guess "he's mental"!
I LOVE MY TIGERS and am proud of what they accomplished this year ad look forward to the next chapter! :geaux:

Gronkowski is 6'6". I'm not saying it's necessarily a big deal, but it would be nice to have a big, fast receiver. LSU has had more success with big WRs recently.

Actually, one of the better attributes of a wide receiver is that he can CATCH. Old rule of thumb, if you can touch it, you can catch it. Lots of receivers out there with physical attributes that don't have soft hands.

And of course, we will need an offensive philosophy to actually open up and throw the ball downfield.
