He is expected to say these kind of things like most but he wasn't even 100% Bama last week. He and his family were in Les' office and he agreed being home is where he needs to be. His dad even told a recruiting writer that Texas was 2nd in front of Bama earlier this year. I do get the feeling that it has to be over though. He already looks bad for following a girl and then what happened on national TV has to put him in a hole even if he wanted to change his mind. It would look like mom is calling all the shots if he did and that would just add to his loss of swag. However, all would be forgiven for the most part between family, coaches, players, and even a majority of fans so they will all push but it would probably be better for him to stick to it given the situation IMO.
We sent coaches for an in-home but Miles is a smart one. He knows that even if committed to LSU that he would want to have the last visit to his house before NSD to make sure the commitment is secure and now he has an even better reason for holding off until the last visit. So instead he had the whole family in his office last week.
Many good coaches know if they have a shot with a player, they can see right through them. If a coach can't tell, he won't be in coaching long. This isn't the first kid they have recruited and won't be the last. Most coaches will tell you whos calling the shots, one kid had his Dad from prison calling the shots. I could give a name, but won't. He was recruited by LSU.
One thing for sure, Saban will put out his hounds to make sure Bama family doesn't let biological family have their way. LC and his girlfriend will be enticed with things not yet offered, for sure.
The girlfriend was standing up behind Landon when he made the announcement. He was shown hugging on her later.
