Even if you claim to not care at all, being an LSU makes it hard not to be bias. The circumstances surrounding this particular recruit couldn't have been scripted in Hollywood. One of the top players in the country, leaves his home state, at a time when LSU couldn't be any better, couldn't have a better resume for secondary players, and is about to play the coach that spurned them for a chance for its 3rd national title. It's like the girl of your dreams leaving you because she started seeing another man, and your best friend from long ago sends you a wedding invitation and the woman sitting next to him just so happens to be your ex-girlfriend. Yeah, you wan't your best friend to be happy, but you always hated that ex-peeotch, and you it's hard to pretend to be happy for your friend. Point being, you love em because he's a local kid, but of all schools to spurn us for, choosing Bama is literally sleeping with the enemy. I am all about letting kids follow their dreams, and obviously has been fascinated with Saban and Alabama since he watched them when a championship when he was a sophomore. Our last title is to distant of a memory for him, so in his eyes, Alabama still reigns supreme. I never get to caught up into recruits until they are on the field. Because the countless # of 5*'s end up on the side of milk cartons because they can't handle the college life. I hope with all my male guidance that I could offer that his reported motives aren't the reality. Because if this kid is that tenderized in the mid section, how in the world is he going to handle the world of being a college athlete on a major university campus. He thinks that his life will be nice and quiet like in Dutchtown. Man he couldn't be further from the truth. I give it 3 and half ours on campus before he gets bombarded by local loyalist, of all shape sized and colors, before the girlfriend "has a few things" she wants to talk about. And in comes Eddie Lacy Too bad. This may be one he'll come to regret. Let the regretting phase commence at 11:45 p.m. on January 9th. LSU 41 Bama 17 Geaux Tigers!! P.S. Tracy Howard.... Come on down to the Red Stick... And come get some of these championships!!! P.S.2. Good luck Landon... I just hope these whispers that I'm hearing aren't true... If so....(picture me shaking my head from side to side, giving you that look Jerome gave Cole when he tried to step to him about dating Pam. P.S.3. I told yall about Feist. He is a beast in the making, And pass coverage really isn't his forte. He is a master at rushing the passer. Oh, back to the topic at hand. Tiger Bait!!! Tiger Bait!!!
If he is as good as expected, he will only play LSU 3 times. 2 of those at Tiger Stadium. He is a D back. It is not like he is a QB. He can't beat us on his own. He is Tiger Bait and we will beat them Monday and we will beat them in Tiger Stadium.
I read the kid completely opposite than some posters. I saw NO confidence in him. Seemed pretty feeble and uncertain. Now he was trying to exude confidence but it sure didn't seem natural. But he is young. I definitely think he will change his mind... at least once in the next month.
This one isn't over yet. From the look on his mom's face, she not only wanted him to commit to the good guys, she expected it. He had probably led her to believe it before they were on tv.
It's over. The truth is all coming out now. He's been Bama for 2 years now. That's what pisses me off about this *****. Playing the game. I don't call wasting LSU coaches time and leading them on when they could be focused on 1000 other things a game. Want to go to Bama? Fine, then commit to Bama but don't waste LSU or any other teams' coaches' time with your bull*****. Reppin the boot my ass. You're now enemy #1 for the boot punk. Carry your ass to Alabama and don't look back. Here's hoping he follows in the footsteps of other recent Louisiana turncoats like Janzen Jackson.
I seem to remember a top QB in the state of La. in the 2003 class not wanting to come to LSU, he ended up at Old Mrs. Looks like LSU did well to let him go. He was mad because LSU had signed two QB's that year. So he ended up at Old Mrs., playing TE. Oh, the two QB's that signed with LSU? One was the first player taken in the NFL draft, an the other, well he just broke a few records with the Packers last week, and won a NC at LSU. The head coach that missed out on that top QB?
did he say this, or is this rumor? if he said it, screw him. man up and be honest instead of playing attention whore games. if it is rumor, then he needs to set the record straight. if nothing more than for his family's sake who doesnt need false rumors about him.
LSU coaches would've still recruited him regardless because it's the right thing to do. You don't NOT recruit a 5-star in your own backyard. Even now, they will continue courting him up until signing day unless he tells them he never wants to speak to them again. After 2/1/12, if he signs with Bama, then you know the deal...TIGER BAIT! I think it is over and he's not flipping, but that doesn't mean our coaches won't still converse with him. You never know what might happen. Suppose Kirby Smart scores a head coaching job causing a rift? Suppose Little Nicky flips out Monday night and goes Bobby Knight on a kid? There's a list of things that could happen between now and then. But still, no need to wish ill on the kid. If he's known for two years, then I applaud him for sticking to his guns. If he really is chasing poon, he'll live to regret it and I question is decision making skills. Was the girlfriend there last night? If so, ugh. His mom was by far the prettiest female on the stage. If I were single, I'd be in Geismar looking for Ms. Landon's Momma like...
