I don't know about the game but playing certainly playing A game.

It's this kind of **** that makes the recruiting aspect for coaches a real pain in the ass.

I wouldn't make it as a college coach because I don't have the patience for such BS.

Of course maybe he is being up front with the coaches and they don't pay any attention to the social network aspect of recruiting these days but it would be hard to ignore.

You caught it at the end of your post. The coaches aren't the ones that fall for THE game...it's us fans.

I haven't seen Miles and staff out scrambling for a safety, while I've seen Bama doing such. That's one of the reasons I'm not super worried about Collins. He may well be all Bammer, but I seriously doubt it. Whenever there's something 'in your face', it's most likely intended to fool you.

Yessir! I did a piece on another site ;) during NSD 2011, and during research for that, I noticed the AMAZING depth we had...on the defensive side of the ball. Looks like it's starting to translate to the offense, too! Can it be any better? Why yes...yes it can. :thumb:

Les has really made character a huge part of the program..

Not that it was ever a problem before, but I really don't think we'll see another Perrilloux situation. Being able to bring in talented kids the way we have lately obviously makes it a lot easier to avoid those situations, but Les clearly wants high quality kids who can go.

I also like the fact our trash talking was curtailed a lot later in the season on defense. I don't mind trash talk, but it was a bit excessive and others really paint you negatively when they lose to you and see kids talking smack.

(It's silly since trash talk goes on at all levels everywhere, but perception can be a great or terrible thing depending on how the media wishes to portray you.. Les is not giving them any ammo. Heck, given all the off-field incidents this year that could have caused problems the fact they did NOT shows the character here.)

Most good coaches know if a player is coming by this time. The staff has a good idea who will sign. Every now and then a player will call and change. But most times a class is sealed before signing day. Oh you have some kids that play games, happens all the time, but most coaches know. I think most of the kids that Les and the staff are recruiting are good kids. Like I say, this is one of the more stable programs being run right now. Gunner shows this after his visit, he and his family were impressed at what this staff was doing with the players. On the field and in the classroom.
