Below is a roster preview for the 2012 season. I think you will see that we have plenty to be excited about next year and, even with the defections, we are stacked. Les coached a bad game against Bama but that doesn't make him a bad coach and I predict he will be better for it in 2012.

I removed all players who have stated their intent to leave LSU and placed an asterick next to the players who I think (in my lay opinion) will be starters next year. You can agree or disagree with these, in fact I would like to hear your thoughts. Incoming recruits are highlighted in purple.

For those who would prefer to dwell in the funk of that loss, go ahead. I am moving on now. GEAUX TIGERS!

I really wish they would move TM7 to a safety position. He has sub par cover skills.

I agree and I've said so before. Safety would allow him more field vision and, in turn, more chances to use his superior ball skills. Alabama picked on him during the BCSNCG because of his size.

Downside is that it would take him away from the LOS where he is a formidable playmaker.

Yep. He is not a "cover" or "lockdown" corner. He gets beat way too often. Man to man is definitely not his strength.

not really, play him at strong safety and he could play at the line of scrimmage all day, like Polamalu with the Steelers. Just move him around everywhere.

Nice. I would bet Hilliard ends up the starter at RB though. As much as I love our rotation, I really wish we'd stick to two primary guys. Hilliard could be a Heismann level star with 20+ carries a game rather than -10 and splitting with 3-4 other guys. I wonder if any current RB is a candidate for a WR switch a la Josh Reed?

I bet one of those young guys plays early at LB as well.

Don't see Loston starting. He should be a candidate to move to LB in the mold Chavis likes them. One of those young guys will get that SS spot...or FS if they move Reid to SS.

Don't think KeKe and Big Sam both start either. My "money" is on Big Sam and Rasco with KeKe still playing the same number of snaps he played this year.

As much as we'll miss Brock, I don't think we miss a beat here. Freak is going to be special.

I also don't believe Mingo will start @ de. For some reason, I think Edwards will start opposite of Montgomery.

I did keep an eye on Freak, Ego and Rasco, those three will be around for a while. KeKe and Sam are just too fast/quick, they play the position very well. Its great when you have players that can come in like this.
