Thanks for sounding more like an adult. Frankly, the ones that sound dumb and confused are the grown-ups that are following 17 yr olds college choices like they're following Bin Laden. That's pretty pathetic to sit at your keyboard (as an adult) and cast judgement and opinions on young people that you have no clue of their situations or circumstances. Especially, when you've probably never played a sport, received this much attention at their age, or was never highly sort after by D1 schools with slick-talking coaches that you watched walk NFL sidelines and coach some of your favorites players on Sundays. you are absolutely right . it came across way more negative than i meant and the pratt comparison was poor. popped into my head. slipped up. but for the record I'm not one of these peopl following these kids tweet. I follow the forums and recruiting by association. Overall what can i say. foot in mouth.
I still think he isn't very bright or mature but of course that is only based on his actions recorded statements history etc. How dare I have a preference for kids that WANT to play LSU. Don't remember a signee or recruit in recent memory ever saying something as negative as he did and then flip in a matter of days. I was wrong to compare to Pratt. I never thought bourque was involved in drugs. It was just an I'll conceived idea. Actually glad to be called out on it. But Im still wary. When he comes in and busts his ass and earns the teams respect then that's all that matters anyway. Not my opinion.
Look, Bourque just had a little mishap in that interview with the aggie reporter. He talked to Miles and Wilson about it and it got straightened out. If you read the article on tigerbait you kind of feel for the kid, he felt bad for it and is proud to be a Tiger now. I think people should just move on, it worked out for us in the end. The best part about it is now the Aggies got something else to be pissed at us about.
Bourque's dad never said anyone tricked his son into anything... His dad was the first to say that his son made some remarks that were very wrong. also he stated that the reporter should've never let that part of the interview out to the public. people said that his father is too involved in his sons recruitment, well the very first interview his dad isn't around for and look what happens.. Bourque's dad has always claimed that he has nothing to do with where his son goes to school, just that he will be there for the question his son has for him. everything that's posted on some sites isn't always the way it's told to reporters.. Bourque made a mistake and his dad spoke to him about it.. the kid was wrong.. davante and his dad visited with coach miles and discussed the interview.. miles forgave the kid....
time will tell. i do not wish this kid ill will. the team will accept him and or police him for his comments. If i'm Brandon Taylor....minter or baker....I give him a warm welcome. you can bank on that. if he makes it then great for us. if he contributes great. if he is an example student athlete great. he is a talent but they are all talents until they go against another player as strong, fast ,and athletic. that goes for everyone single one of LSU's players.
