I also know the cook family pretty well, I umpire with louie's brother. My younger cousin graduated from Notre Dame in 2010 and is on scholorship at UL for football, I have another younger first cousin who is a freshman this year at notre dame, though he did tear up his knee very badly about 5 weeks before the end of football. I do have alot of ties to that program as well. Like I said.....no ill will towards devante....I wish him nothing but the best and it is great to see that his dad stepped in with him, great to know.
I like the way he hands the ball to the officials after the play. To me, that is a great indicator of the kind of person he is. He ain't surprised to score, and I like that, too!
I graduated from Catholic with Brad Cook which is Lou's nephew. For the life of me I can't remember his name right now but I used to hang out with Lou's son who was the QB at ND and was a walk-on at LSU for a little while, He must of entered LSU around 2002.

Committed to A&M today A&M said he could stay at RB and pushed for a commit early. LSU was likely not as aggressive because they wanted to see the continued improvement in his grades before pushing. LSU hasn't said no to RB but WR was the position we were focusing on. I think he could be a good one at either position but I also like him slightly better at WR. He is still one to keep an eye on IMO. Especially since A&M has 2 other RBs committed already.
Miles straightened things out yesterday and told him we want him as a RB. We will start to see more LSU love after the visit yesterday. A&M fas aren't too happy right now. On the A&M front it look like we can also steal CB Darion Monroe (Current QB for East St. John) if we want him. But after taking Raymond we may not offer. We will know more after the camp next weekend. May see him at the July camp as well.
