:geaux: Don't think there's much chance of him seeing the field as a freshman QB. If he does, some bad shyt has happened to the LSU QB Corps or he's the second coming of Scam (sorry, meant Cam) Newton. :LSU231:
Oh i know that Chick Fil A Bowl was complete domination by our defense. It was sad. Before that game they averaged 282 rushing yards, we held them to 164
If we do see him i hope its the 2nd event. I was just questioning other dude. I didnt think he would see the field.
Moffit spoke this morning and said there is no truth to him weighing in Liggins on his visit and he weighed 291. Miles said he is 280.
Miles saw what he likes Good arm strenght and good foot work , LOL here we go again , I hope the young man proves me wrong . I sure do !! He is a Tiger now , and i do like the fact he wanted the floks in Oxford to know it . Geaux Tigers
IF we used this guy as a freshman I would do like OU did with there Freshman QB Bell I think was his name give him the ball and either have it run it down there throat. Are we could use him as a extra lineman after he hands it off and no way with a QB that big and the O-Line the back can't pick up short yardage heck the old lady walking across the road could walk in from 3 yards out.
I'd be careful to pre-judge a recruit due to his style of play. Not all running quarterbacks are the same. Not attacking you, but I've seen numerous posts expressing a similar sentiment: "oh no we can't win with a running QB he is gonna be just like Jefferson oh no" ... It's foolish to think that. Would these people saying that LSU can't win with a mobile quarterback turn Cameron Newton away, or someone with Cam's skill set? I think not. Let's not judge players based on what we had in the past. Liggins is his own guy and could very well be a good QB for us.
yeah, but see how Div-2 triple-option team Georgia Southern put up 341 yards, 21 pts, and 7.41 yards per play on Bama's all-star defense this year... that was the best anybody did against Bama (nobody else put up more than 250 yards on Bama and nobody else put up more than 14 points on Bama and nobody else put up more than 4.42 yards/play vs Bama) regardless, that is irrelevant because those are triple-option teams and LSU doesn't run the triple option what LSU runs is the speed option, which may be the best play in football. here is the best football site on the internet explaining in great detail why it's so awesome: The simple, wonderful, inexpensive speed option | Smart Football remember, Alabama needed Gregg Williams help in preparing for LSU's option game also, you can thank the option for one of the greatest moments in LSU history: when LSU took down #1 Florida in 1997 (Florida had been on a 25-game SEC winning streak at that point and finished #4 in the nation that year). Florida's D that year was lead by DC Bob Stoops, and featured guys like --All-American, 1st Round pick and 3-time Pro Bowl DE Jevon Kearse --1st Round pick DT Reggie McGrew --All-American and 2nd Round pick LB Mike Peterson --2nd Round pick LB Johnny Rutledge --3rd Round pick S Tony George --All-American and 4th Round pick DE Alex Brown --All-American and 4th Round pick CB Fred Weary --6th Round pick CB Elijah Williams --7th Round pick LB Eugene McCaslin etc look at the 1:15 mark... see that short-side option that Herb Tyler takes 50 yards for a TD? how can you not like that? then look at the 2:33 mark... see how that short-side option sets up FB Tommy Banks up the middle for a TD? how can you not like that? look at the look on Spurrier's face! finally, look at the 6:05 mark... see that short-side option that Herb Tyler takes 12 yards for a TD? how can you not like that? again, look at the look on Spurrier's face! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWMfprf2Na8"]LSU vs. Florida 1997 - YouTube[/ame] although i'm more excited to see speedster Jerrard Randall run the option at QB for the Tigers, i'm still excited to see what Liggin's can do running the option. here is someone's option of Liggins running the option: LSU Just Got This Kid, And I’m Good With It
