Can be moved if needed but it has some implications for LSU. I guess it is unlikely that LSU can now schedule a series in Texas. Could have some recruiting implications down the road as well with ND getting the best of both worlds in TX and LA. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcon...lor/stories/021408dnspobaylorfb.bc41e584.html
what a ridiculous location unless you are a ND fan. Baylor travels under 5K a game to road games within 1.5 hrs from Waco. Who knows, by then maybe they will be a bowl team, but I doubt it.
I actually think this is pretty bad for LSU. ND has recruited La pretty hard under Weis. They haven't stole anyone notable yet, but things like this could put them over the top.
Yes, LSU and ND have been lobbying to get some games in Texas to spark interest amoung recruits in the area. Now that it is moved to N.O. that puts them right in the middle of our recruiting areas and they are still likely to get a Texas game. ND has always had no problem recruiting the country and this does not help LSU at all.
I don't think that ND or any team that play's a game in New Orleans or anywhere in LA. will gain any kind of recruiting advantage. LSU will land 99.9% of the players it wants out of this state.
LSU wants Louisiana players more so then out of state players. Everybody does. EDIT: Mind you LSU recruits well and always has eyes upon the state of Texas. Again, everybody does. Absolutely, it's that conference thingie that ND does that gets them around. Exposure is not an issue for them as if there were 30 games played a season, ND would be on TV for 28 of em. playing in our back yard gives them more exposure to those Louisiana players then the tube does so now they get pickins at the 99% of the players LSU want's? Here's to puttin on a better show in TS against the SEC then ND playing a cupcake in the Dome.
If this is an annual event it will definitely have recruiting consequences. Do you think Oklahoma would recruit as well in the Dallas area if they didn't play Texas every year in the Cotton Bowl (stadium)?
I agree with Clair. It's not like every top recruit in the state will leave for ND but it certainly gives them exposure which will help their recruiting base down here. Notre Dame recruits nationally but isn't terribly strong in LA.
Guess I'll have to put on my purple and gold, buy a Baylor ticket, and go root against the Irish. All other Tiger fans should do their part too. Can't hurt if recruits see the dome filled with LSU colors.
