I have to agree for Alabama to keep that game, there is a deep hatred between those two teams. Just like I think it is important for Auburn to play Georgia.

We play Washington in our second game next year, and they are on tonight (29th) in the Alamo bowl vs Baylor.

I have no prob. whatsoever with next years schedule. We've got some kinks to work out early on (QB) and should be given a pass after last Sept. OOC. Washington should get us some attention. I also see a return to playing Cowbell later in the season- which we used to do for like 3 decades. It was Bama then Miss St. then Tulane for years and years.
    Remember those days?
Next yrs schedule has that "old school" feel to it. Especially with A&M in there. And lots of home games as well. All we need is Rice and this schedule looks like one from the mid 70's...

I agree (old school) but it looks like a 1980's schedule when we played A&M first game of the year. Kyle Field in late August is an oven. It looks like Alleva will propose shifting the divisions when the AD's meet in March to discuss future scheduling. He feels we should not have permenant east foes on the schedule. He feels like I do that we should not have UF as our east foe if the schedule format remains as is.

Amen. I hope the SEC comes to the understanding that there are other teams besides BAMA that need to be considered when doing the permanent schedule. Makes me sick to see all of the preferential treatment they get every time these things roll around. I still can't understand how they lose GA and we picked up SC?!? Thank God we have a strong team and those things won't matter much : )

This could be because the SEC office is in Alabama. Bama always plays the tradition card so that their rivalries are maintained. With the two new teams added to the conference, its time that the other schools demand fairness in scheduling.

I sort of like the idea floated earlier... Put Bama and Auburn in the East, and Texas A&M, Missouri, and Vanderbilt in the West, and do away will ALL permanent cross-division games. Rotate them all equally... That would let Bama keep playing Tennessee every year and hopefully shut their whining just a bit.

Alleva will push for just that. If the UT rivalry means that much to Bama, let them move to the east along with Auburn.
