Like last year, we only had 5 players start all 14 games. We played over 80 players in games, look for much of the same. OBJ started 9 games but played in all 14. Landry played in all 14 only starting 1. Many kids will play, who starts, for me its who cares. Lets play the game. Oh, the 5 players that started all 14 games, Hurst, Taylor, Blackwell, Mo and Brockers. When you play 80+'s players, everyone gets time on the field. Special Teams play gets people involved early. LSU does one of the better jobs in mixing in the young players with the older's. There are a bunch of players that played in 13 or 14 games and only started 1 or none. As for RB's, Starting games, Blue-1, Ford-3, Ware-10, Hilliard-0. Not a bad bunch of guys to turn to........
I like Shepard in the slot against a safety or a linebacker. It also allows him to get into the running game from time to time. He averages about 7 yards a carry and has ripped off big ones when they hand him the ball.
True Red, I too would like to see Shep more involved. Rushing last year 7 times for 52 yds., 14 receptions for 190 yds and 4 TD's. This is his money year, best of luck to him.
Lets talk DL. With the loss of Brockers, many think, Freak and Ego will be in the mix. One guy that may have got lost in the shuffle is Josh Downs. This is his money year and I hope he stays healthy. He has a good chance to see plenty of playing time. He look good in the Spring game. This could be the year he steps up. Looking at last years stats, Ego and AJ were very close in stats, close also in the Spring game. This will start with a 4 man rotation, Logan, Downs, AJ and Ego, this is a good thing to have this many DT in rotation. On the outside, Montgomery, Mingo, Rasco, Aghayere and Edwards will all get into the mix. Remember, Sr's this year are Aghayere, Edwards and Downs, but a few others could/will leave early. Enjoy the season.
The class coming in, keep an eye on this guy...... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ing-2012-national-signing-day-targets/page/21
