If Stanford had beaten Oregon, they'd be right smack dab in the middle of the BSC game discussion. Probably sitting behind Bama and ahead of OU even.

The reason Stanford isn't in the title game discussion any more is, as is the case in most seasons, is that they lost late in the season.

I know late-season loses don't ALWAYS hurt a team to the point that it drops them from the title game, but in other years, the formula for getting to the dance without being undefeated was to lose EARLY.

Stanford lost late and because there are 2 strong BCS conference teams currently undefeated and three 1-loss teams right there, they happened to lose at the wrong time. Too late to crawl back into it. They would need help of mass proportions--similar to LSU's title run in '07 where we needed a million things to happen and the odds fell in our favor.

It's a disgrace to schedule, much less play Towson.

    1) Boise doesn't have a schedule anything close to the SEC West to compare to

    2) LSU should do very well with a lighter OOC schedule next year to allow Mett time to develop.

Izzy, please break down this hypothetical 2012 Top 25 ranking for us per game:

Suppose that we win it all this year, and start out the 2012 season ranked number 2 (because of the new QB)

Where would LSU rank each week?

    North Texas vs. LSU #2

    Washington vs. LSU #?

    Idaho vs. LSU

    Towson vs. LSU

    Florida vs. LSU

    Kentucky vs. LSU

    Ole Miss vs. LSU

    Arkansas vs. LSU

(I know the rest of the schedule isn't finalized yet)

I believe that LSU would run straight through their easy OCC and the East teams and then be ranked #1 by the time we play Bama, Arky, etc...

They're a yankee team in Baltimore Maryland (Colonial Conference)

And they're called the TIGERS too

Badass boys from Baltimore can play some ball ;)

Alma mater of Jermon Bushrod, Saints left tackle. Other than that, I know nothing about their football history.

Up until a couple of years ago, Towsen would play the two schools in my area....Lehigh and Lafayette. They haven't faired very well in their new conference.

Last year they were 1-10. This year they are better, 7-2 .

Towsen in Death Valley is a joke.

With our young team, if we win out, I can't imagine who would be ranked ahead of us in preseason polls.
