Has strength of schedule ever hurt: Boise St. Houston Stanford USM I could go on an on but those 3 teams don't play anyone all year and could wind up in a BCS BOWL. Look, LSU will be ranked in the Preseason Top 1, 2 or 3 next year and once they win those first 5 games we will be #1 in the nation. Then SEC play kicks off and we wil just climb higher and higher in SOS.
SOS should still be fine because of the conference. Look @ Bama THIS year. Look at their OOC schedule. Not all that daunting. Besides, I'm a firm believer of giving a team a "grace period" after putting together a great season like this one.
Not sure....did Boise state or houston or southern miss ever play in the NC game??? So I gues that answer would be ...YES As for stanford....weak schedule is hurting them this year......even with one loss no way the play for a NC.
Quote: Only have 5 games on the schedule so far. Four OOC games to start the season and Arky on the Friday after thanksgiving. No other games on the schedule as of yet (per LSUsports.net). I'm sure it's because of aTm and Mizzou joing the SEC. Anyone know when we can expect a complete schedule for next year. I been scratchin' on this one for months now ... I mean WTF is the SEC doing ... Likely trying to spin the schedule to help their little BAMA patsies ... They gotta release this no later than Spring This ... Scrimmages for Mett ... He should have a QB rating near 200 and have about 12 TDs with almost 0 picks BEFORE he takes his first SEC snap
Hurts Boise State ever year. Every year. They wouldn't have sniffed the BCS CG if they had won out. Yet they were #5 in the nation to start the season. They were 8-0 and only #5 in the BCS as of the TCU game. You tell me.
I suspect closer to 9 TDs and 2 interceptions and a rating of 150-160. Great numbers to start off your career as starter for LSU.
Geaux catch a choupic and have your dinner wannabee boogalee Mett is gonna smoke the stats in 2012 ... He's had two years in our system ... these four scrimmages in early 2012 are just what the doctor ordered And he'll have the "luxury" of an experienced RB corps (best in USA) and ... dare I say it ... AN IMPROVED DEFENSE
With the addition of aTm & Mizzou, I expect the SEC to have a 9-game schedule next year, which means they will buy out one of these teams. The real question is when will we play aTm. We used to play them on the first game, but I seriously doubt either LSU or aTm will be willing to start the season with a conference game. The Idaho game sits right before the slot where the State game has been the last few years, so buying out the Vandals would allow aTm & LSU to be the first conference game of the season. Buying out Towson would put aTm after State, which is a pretty good place for them. However, based on this year's schedule, that may be the week the Aggies and Piggies play in JerryWorld--I don't think aTm's move to the SEC will change that. Based on this, I don't think the Idaho game ever happens. GEAUX TIGERS
