.....just 'cause I'm tolrant. I'm a Born Again Vegan. I can't support Chick-Fil-A, and that's where the misunderstanding comes in.
So what's the Chick-Fil-A position on Vegans? I know the Cows approve of a meatless diet, but the money for hay has to come from somewhere.
Same here. If you worry about heights and weights, TM7 would have been sitting the bench. You can play football or you can't. Its too simple. Todd McClure is one of those guys, too this and too that. 7th round draft choice. Todds a great guy. He played football, baseball and basketball at Central. During training camp of his rookie season he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and missed the entire season. During his second season he took over as the Falcons starting center. How many 6' 1" guys have been starting on a OL in the NFL for that many years? You can count them on one finger, hes it. Another former LSU player, undrafted Ryan Clark. Check how long hes been in the NFL. Playing under Dick LeBeau. One of the better Safeties in the NFL. Said to be too small, too slow, etc. coming out of LSU. Another guy thats done well in the Pro's.
Now it is, Mike last played in 1990 with the Chiefs. Check and find me a starting center in the NFL at 6'1" with a few years under his belt. At one time LSU had three OC in the NFL, one was said to be too short, one too old and one too tall. Short-McClure Old- Kevin Mawae Tall-Rudy Niswanger What round was Rudy drafted in? Which one of these three played every position on the OL at LSU? Another Trivia question: Name this former LSU Player........ Only one time in the history of the Touchdown Club of Houston, an OL has made the Offensive POY. At age 15, he began having seizures, which were later diagnosed as epilepsy. He started on medication to control it and was able to continue playing football. Allowed only one sack in his last season, ended up with 210 pancake blocks in his collegiate career. He ended up as one of the better OL in LSU history.
Alan Faneca. Honestly, that was my guess to begin with but yes, I cheated with a confirmation via Google search and found it on Wikipedia. To be honest, I didn't know about the epilepsy but the Houston deal (came for a suburb of Houston), his proficiency in blocking, and being one of the best OL in LSU history made me guess him to begin with. Tell me what I've won, LSUDad!!!
after practice yesterday, Miles was asked his thoughts on the new freshmen, and Hunter is the only defensive player he named by name... "I like the freshmen class," Miles said. "I think there is some speed. There are some bright eyes. I think the secondary is going to really help us and I think those linebackers will step in and play. On the offensive side I think both (Travin) Dural and (Kavahra) Holmes are going to be good receivers for us. I think Danielle Hunter could potentially be a very exciting player. I like us. I think our football team will add those guys to our team, and add their skill set to us. I think we will be better."
Like I said, it's not uncommon. At the Center position, height is not necessarily an advantage like it is at Tackle or even Guard. Olin Kreutz is another short one. I'm sure if I dug up every roster I would find more guys 6'1" or 6'2". I'd guess that the average height for the position is 6'2". You'll find a few that are 6'4", but rarely taller than that. At that height they are moved to guard.
