I thought I read somewhere where he was also a decathelete? It seems like he might be a good punter, but a better athlete. Can he catch? IF so, he may solve our height problems at WR. lol.
He is from the country town of Ballarat, Australia, and they breed them tough up there. No concerns about his ability to make a killer tackle. o:
Jamie Keene represented Australia in the Javelin as a 16 year old, at a juniors tournament in Greece 2006. He came 6th. He has also competed on a National level as a rower. What is unusual, is that he is originally from Queensland, Northern Australia. An area where more Rugby is played than Aussie Rules. (Rugby does not produce punters only field goal kickers) At some point he moved South and played Australian Rules. Keehn certainly hasn't played at the highest level in Aussie Rules, but at a level high enough to require solid kicking skills. ( He is certainly tough enough for College football, he played in a badass league) What is also interesting is his Field Goal kicking action. it looks text book Rugby style. I get the feeling this guy is versatile, considering his wide skill range. Here are some links, more to come when available.
