As I was saying. Bama is bringing to fruition the hopes and aspirations of one and all who want to be playing their best football, when it matters most, during the playoffs. There are a lot of ways to be some place you don't belong. Conference champions have been known to limp out of their CCG with 2 or 3 losses, much less the occasional upset. A great LSU team with only one bad Saturday under their belt would be indignant at the thought of being left behind in that parade and so would Bama. The worst case scenario, could even be a 6-6 UCLA team, who took an overconfident 10-2 Oregon team to task. Put the premium on that regular season. The CCG is not designed to reward the team with the best conference record. It's designed to reward the championship of the regular season based solely on how well the teams were playing THAT single day. The concept robs any noble thought of regular season entitlement. The BCS, whether we like how they count or not, is designed to pick who was able to maintain their regular season mojo. From that group, let the strongest survive and he will also have one of the best records. That is the highest compliment I can pay to the regular season.
I am not buying it Tusk you guys lost to a team on your own field didn't have to play in Atlanta didn't win your division didn't win the SEC but because you are Bama and Nick is your coach the powers at be put you in over OKie State because ? it will never sit well at my house and you guys didn wimp our butts all over the field but you guys should have not been in that game !!!!:angry:
Well Cliff, this too will pass. And when you find yourself on the short end of the conference championship rope, you will be over it for good. Conference champions are not the way to go. Teams with much worse records, than a one-loss Crimson Tide will be playing for it all. Get the top 4 BCS teams in the country and play ball. And take my CCG, please.
That would be fine. Having to play Alabama again after having defeated them on their home field would be more palatible if they had to earn their spot by winning a semi-final game.
Phucking gumps, you're all a bunch of arrogant, passive-aggressive pricks. Will we once again be banned from your little inbred forum when you get beat in yet another regular season game?...only to beg your bitch asses into the title game? Sorry mods, just saying what most won't.
Red, you and the gang keep comparing Bama's road to the championship with LSU. Why would the BCS be concerned about that? You were already in. It's the other 3 they were worried about. Compare Bama to Okie St. and Stanford. There's your top 4 BCS teams this go around. We watched you play in Atlanta, so did the Cowboys, so did Standford. Of all the top 4, LSU was the only team who played in a CCG. LSU played one more game than all of us. LSU was the only team who didn't need the BCS points and LSU was the only team that had the most to lose. The BCS did their job well. Of the 3 teams sitting behind LSU, we were the most dangerous. But you knew that.
I am cool if we start the season with the top 4 make it in ! I will be 86 and taking a **** in a bag tied to my belt with my teeth on the floor and I will still not be over what happened on Jan 9th !!!
I can deny that Bama was the best team last year. Bama put together the game of their lives, and we **** the bed. You were the better team that day, but throughout the year we showed we were the best team in college football hands down.
