Thought he had a thread since we have been talking about him for over a year now. One of the top WRs prospects in the country out of WA has listed LSU in his top 5 along with Wash, Cal, ND, and UF. Had a great visit for the Elite Camp this month but I expect him to stay close to home. Both of his parents are Washington alums. If he decided to leave the state I think he would be a Tiger IMO. Been very high on us since the beginning. Will announce his choice on the 27th out of the 5 teams listed above. I am going with Washington for now. He has kept it close to the vest but both of his parents attended UW.
Looks like Kasen is really down to 2 teams based on his quotes but will not reveal them. Based on what a Scout guy out of WA who talks to Kasen regularly thinks it is LSU and UW. Here is a breakdown of is comments on a local radio show: -Said that UW, Notre Dame, and LSU have been recruiting him the hardest, sending him the most mail. -Said that all of his top 5 all had great coaching staffs that he gets along with and that was one of the main reasons they were in his top 5. -Playing in his father's footsteps (at UW) is something that would be amazing and something that he's always had in the back of his mind. -Friends with Austin Seferian-Jenkins, but he doesn't really try to recruit him. -He said he's down to 2 schools, but he won't say who they are. -Making the announcement on Friday night at Skyline Stadium in front of his whole football team as well as some of the local youth football teams. -He has no preference on staying close to home or going far away, as long as he feels like home and can develop as a person. He's always had the idea of moving out of state and experiencing something outside of Washington as something he would like to do.
It seems like this kid has his priorities straight...and this is kind of refreshing no matter what his decision is. (Notice that his priorities don't include academics...he's one of us...he'll be a Tiger.:lol
Could be... Everyone is guessing but I know LSU has been on him for over a year now and his visit here this summer was a homerun. Also had a great visit to ND though.
Don't expect it either. Pretty hard to overcome family history and distance especially this far away.
I know logic would say that a kid far away would not come. I believe most people would have figured that Joe McKnight would have stayed in Louisiana and not moved to California. Warrick Dunn and Travis Minor were from Baton Rouge.....they will never leave. I think if I was Kasen Williams and I went to check myself out, on the internet, at prospective recruiting schools chat sites, I could be swayed a little from comments like this. How about we say I think he should look at LSU because: We are building one of the best Offensive Line, Running Back, Defensive Line and Defensive Backfield groups in our history. Ok everyone talks about the QB situation, but UW QB is going pro after this year. Oh and for all of you top notch LB's and QB's why not join the party? Chavis is a LB genius! How many LB's has he put in the NFL? Gonzales helped shape maybe the best college QB that has ever walked the face of the planet. So come on down! You will never feel the passion like Tiger Stadium! How bout them Tigers?
