I see our point and think we will have some rocky times but fully expect him to end up at LSU. He was recruiting for LSU before he was committed and way before. He will get hang of the process.
Didn't seem like a joke. He went on about it at length. A bit more than just the standard, " I want to make sure I made the right decision" line, which in fairness, he also said. I respect that he is a young man and being media savvy is a learned skill, but my stomach literally turned when I read his interview. Hope his recruitment goes better.
IMO if a kid says he needs to make sure he is making the right decision he shouldnt commit. I understand you need to make sure LSU or any other school is where you want to be, but if you arent sure dont commit.
I agree with that also but accept that it doesn't really apply in today's recruiting world. I don't have a problem with him looking around or even deciding to go somewhere else. I just disliked that a brand new commit to LSU, still a junior btw, could sound so....mercenary. I just hate it. But as I said earlier, I hope it's just a case of misspeaking, even if he really feels that way. Less really is more!
Anyone else remember what it was like to be 16 or 17? Now add unbelievable popularity. We need to back off our expectations of these kids. In fact, most teenagers f*ck with adults like us just for fun.
Nothing to worry about with the no comment. He wants to get his offers to keep coming and enjoy the process a little just like Hill. NCAA football recruits D.J. Pettway and Mickey Johnson both are over 20 scholarship offers - ESPN
I was very impressed with Landry's junior films. I haven't seen much in his senior films. Could be an offense problem at Lutcher? Similar to what Rivers has to deal with? He's still ranked very high, probably based on his athleticism and competitiveness. But his films don't tell the story of a 6.0 4-star - at least not the ones I've seen.
Per Sheadixion on TSD: Deion Sanders told Jarvis Landry that he was the most natural WR he has seen since Jerry Rice. This was after practice before the UA All-American game.
