160 yds vs Berwick. The state rush record standings now say: 1. Germaine Williams, Ascension Catholic - 8048 2. Kenny Hilliard, Patterson - 7924, 124 yards to tie vs Abbeville this week.
Someone on another board has conflicted info from you and I. His post says he is currently at 7936 so only needs 112 yards to tie the record. Also Williams set his record in 5 seasons (played varsity as an 8th grader).
Don't know who this other person is or what his source is, but mine is Patterson High School Head Football Coach Tommy Minton. Didn't know that about Williams, but its not surprising. You see a lot of that at the 1A level. Frankly, based on what Hilliard did in his freshman year I'd say he could have contributed heavily as an 8th grader.
I'll take that. And I just realized our info is different as well. I tried to calculate mine back from an article where Hilliard talked about the yardage 3 weeks ago but articles after games usually have conflicting stats. You know Coach Minton is following closely.
Kenny Hilliard is now the LA All-Time Career Rushing Leader. Moving on to the 2nd round to increase his total. Not sure how many yards he had tonight yet but over 124 yards.
Don't know his yardage yet either, but he got the record on the first play of the third quarter, so there was plenty of time to add to the total. Patterson won 49-14, I believe.
extremely unimpressive tonight in a playoff game against west feliciana he did score a go ahead 2 pt conversion to put them ahead 22-21 with 1:31 to go
Not sure if you actually watched or not but extremely unimpressive is a little overboard. Hilliard had a slow night running and had two fumbles but came back on defense after his last fumble and tipped the pitch to cause the game winning fumble recovery and 2 point conversion. Another example of Hilliard carrying his team on his back and this time bringing them to the Dome. Also had some very nice runs. Still had 140 yards on 19 carries. Congrats to Kenny.
