ATH out of GA who LSU has recruited since last year but haven't heard much about him until now. Well he will decide by the end of the month between LSU and AU. Kind of a weird situation because he is not a very strong QB prospect and will be a big project but he is a 4* TE on Scout and a 3* ATH on Rivals and has great size and athleticism. AU has been the leader but only offering him as a TE and they have Frazier already committed for QB. LSU is offering him as a ATH but with a chance at QB which could give us the edge. I would fully expect LSU to still get someone like Ely and I still think we will land him. Ht:6'5" Wt:230 lbs 40:4.7 secs Bench Max:250 Squat Max:370 Vertical:28 inches GPA:3.0
Correction: Auburn has offered as a WR/Wildcat QB LSU offered as a QB/ATH with a chance to compete at QB first.
Tim Tebow's NFL Combine 40 times were 4.7 and 4.72 and that was reported as "pretty good numbers for a quarterback who weighs 236 pounds." Here's the link... Tim Tebow 40 Yard Dash | Tim Tebow Zone
I just heard him say AU was recruiting him as a WR/Wildcat QB on a scout video interview from yesterday. Zach Lee hasn't really started talking to the Dodgers from what I hear. Turned down a few opportunities to go fly out to L.A. and meet with them to focus on his studies. All signs point to him staying here but anything could happen if they throw out around 4-6M which I also don't see happening given that is triple the amount they have ever paid a draft pick in their history. Looking really good that LSU lands Ely before the end of the month. Uzomah has ties to Kevin Minter and Sam Gibson from the LSU team and it may come down to a visit that may take place before the end of the month but I would say AU has the edge and will land him if he never makes that visit.
According to Rivals, LSU in the lead. Any idea if this guy can maybe move to DE? Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Whispers: Leaders emerge for top prospects Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett athlete C.J. Uzomah has narrowed his list to Auburn and LSU, and sources say he prefers LSU. Thus, it will be interesting to see if the Tigers hold out for Brissett or push on Uzomah.
Maybe a DE but more likely a TE. I think we will see him get his shot at QB to start though. BTW, he will be on campus Sunday for his final visit before deciding between LSU, AU, and UF.
