We have a QB on the board.

3* QB out of AL and brother of NFL QB Philip Rivers. He has the same unorthodox throwing motion and is considered a project at QB just like his brother was coming out of HS. Holds offers from Arizona St, FSU, Memphis, Miss St., NC State, Stanford, Tennesseem UCLA, Vandy, and Kentucky. Rated the 10th best pro style QB on Rivals and 30th for all QBs on Scout.

I was told he would jump on an offer and I guess that is exactly what happened.

And the obvious next question is....

Does this push Ely away? I'm assuming LSU would love to take 2.

Edit: WELCOME TO LSU, Stephen Rivers!!! I apologize for my rudeness ... sometimes I forget my manners...

I updated the 1st post and I wasn't that high on him and I still think he is a project but his film looks pretty good. All the things they are saying about him are the same things they said about Philip coming out of HS but Stephen will have to perform against stiffer competition.

Even if he takes a while to develop that is not a bad thing especially if Zach Lee sticks around for a few years. Hopefully he will have plenty of time to develop.

As for Ely, the news is still scattered. Maybe the staff heard what they needed to hear from Ely and decided to push for Rivers or maybe they don't mind coming in together. I am leaning to Ely heading elsewhere and the staff knew about it but can't say for sure.

The hitch in delivery is a concern, but he's got size, poise in the pocket, mobility, a strong arm, and definite pedigree. What's not to like? Welcome aboard, my man!

Does nobody see what this kid could do for us? Being Rivers' brother, could really boost LSU support. He's huge, and if Rivers works with him, he could turn out to be something. Plus with Lee, he has plenty of time to develop.

Not crazy about this guy. Would like a little more polished guy but good pickup nonetheless. At least we're filling a need.

I like the pickup. He seems to be a project type of guy but that's not a bad thing at all given our current situation.

EDIT: I was actually impressed by his video. Mechanics are funky but I came away impressed. I like his pocket presence, arm strength, and how calm he is in the pocket.
