Like Mike Davis last year, I expect the verbal to be a hollow one if the school he really desires gives him a commitable offer...
I agree. I think a lot of the players want to get it over with 'publicly' before they start their HS senior seasons...but in their own minds, they're still looking/hoping. Then you have the ones that just enjoy the attention and milk it until NSD, even though they know all along where they're gonna commit.
Clemson or LSU either way, both are my favorite teams and it will be badass whatever one he decides to go to. I just hope he don't go to florida or UND :thumb:
Sounds great for LSU. If we land both Rivers and Ely, it will ease the situation. I'm fine with taking a big project like Rivers if we get a guy like Ely. I feel Ely is much more polished. I watched his competition and he was a little off on timing.. He definitely showed polish the other day. I think he has a better arm than I expected too. Hes still maturing physically, which is great for us. Timing issue is something easily fixed. Kinda hard to have great timing at a competition like that when he never threw to those guys before... I like the quote from his coach that said Rivers won't hurt LSU's standing. Ely understands a major program needs to recruit multiple QBs. I also agree with whoever said above that Ely might ditch whoever he commits to Friday if ND/Florida fully offer...if Florida hasn't already.
I'm not sure I'd call Rivers a project. He's actually a pretty damned good QB, just a little unorthadox...He's in pretty good company.... But I'm all over having both of these fellas! :geaux:
Thanks for the article Hatcher... Does seem like we are sitting in a good spot for him and the Florida sources are still favoring LSU to land his commitment. I have heard LSU has been pushing really hard for him.
