Sorry to bump an old thread but any news on this kid? His highlight reel gets me pumped. Kind of reminds me of Terrelle Pryor (lets hope no trading of sports memorabilia for tattoos)

Probably has the quickest release and throws it just as hard as Mett. Struggling a little bit with accuracy so far but so has Mett and Rivers in the last 3 practices.

Could be a great compliment to Mett next year and he will bring the duel threat aspect behind center.

Do you think he'll receive a better shot at QB than RShep? I've heard he has a better arm than RS.

I don't see him moving from QB unless he gets passed up by someone else next season. I think he and Mett will be the 1-2 punch the next two years. He has the ability to move to WR or DB but I don't see it at this point.

I can see Mettenberger moving to LB....if rumors of him goldbricking on the field and in the classroom are true.

So I agree with BHelm...Randall stays at QB.

If you are talking about his weight, that wasn't a problem. He actually lost weight. The problems were his dedication to summer practices and summer school.

I'm not talking about his weight. I'm talking about not putting up with problem players. If he's a problem...maybe switching him to another position and putting him at the bottom of that depth chart will get his attention.

If Mett continues to be a problem....screw him...develop the other QBs.

I always thought that Ryan Perriloux should have been switched to LB instead of kicked off the team, with his size and speed.

    I believe in a second chance...but after that...zero tolerance.

I think he got the message:

Maybe he's realizing with some hard work, he could actually compete for the job. Hopefully he's added a little speed with the weight drop.

    great news !!

I wasn't jumping to conclusions about Mett...that's a big "if". But I don't think LSU can be cavalier about attitude problems on the field or in the classroom after the last several years.

    Here's to a serious Mettenberger !!
