Just heard a tidbit that 4* S Byron Moore from Cali is rethinking his commitment to USC. 6'1 188 4.5 He is rated the #8 Safety on Rivals and #10 on Scout. He told Shep he was thinking about LSU and was getting some info from him on the subject. Miles went to Cali 2-3 weeks ago and meet with him (the same trip when he meet with Janzen's biological mother). 1st I have heard of this so I am not sure what are chances are and how much thought he is really giving to leaving USC.
Re: S Byron Moore If he wants to come here do we take him? And forget Myles/Johns? How would that work.
Re: S Byron Moore Some think we may take 3 S in this class in case Loston does not qualify from the start. Myles is not a definite and Johns may not be either. I think Johns will be in this class along with Loston. As to who the coaches prefer over Myles or Moore, I have no clue. But I assume they would both be takes and it could case us not to offer Johns. Too early to tell because this stuff with Byron Moore has not been confirmed yet.
Re: S Byron Moore Uh, from what I understand, Loston's grades are not far off enough for him not to qualify. Hes qualified right now and would take some catastrophic grades for him not to make the GPA...right?
Re: S Byron Moore From what I have heard he is very close and will likely qualify but there is a little work to do. Think the grade issue came in the midterm because he planned on being an early enrollee but that changed mid year.
Re: S Byron Moore I think this is closer to what is going on. He's going to make it unless he just lays an egg in the Spring. In other words, I don't think he is playing from behind at this point. It's more like a tie score and he just needs to keep it tied.
Re: S Byron Moore Well, this might of had some legs after all. Per USC boards, he has decommitted from USC and wants to leave the state. That rules out both schools he has once been committed to, USC and UCLA. Took official to ND already and he wants to come to LSU for a visit. He and Shep are good friends.
Re: S Byron Moore Wow, how things change very quickly. Would be good to put pressure on Myles to make a move if he really is considering LSU.
Re: S Byron Moore Do we have a legitimate shot? Or is he going to be used as leverage against Myles? Or both? :miles:
Re: S Byron Moore He has mentioned LSU in high regard a few times over the last month and Miles made a trip to see him a few weeks ago. I would say we have a fair shot especially if he has thought it through and really wants to leave the state as he claims. If he comes to LSU next weekend, he really doesn't have enough time to visit anywhere else before NSD.
