I still feel that if we want him he is ours. I don't think LSU is pushing it as much as before because he has some academic concerns. I believe he raised his ACT but still has some work to do with his gpa.

Friday is the day he makes a decision.

Not sure where he stands with LSU right now. I don't see the staff taking a commit on Friday with Jernigan still on board unless LSU got their answer from Jernigan already. But from what I have heard the LSU staff still feels really good about Jernigan and could live without another DT in this class if we miss on him. I think he is likely headed out-of-state. Between us Arkansas and Tennessee.

I almost NEVER disagree with BHelm, but I do on this one. I think Johnson is one of the last three we get. Rasco being another, and the other being a surprise get...hopefully an LB.

I think there is a chance that Mickey is in this class but I it depends on what the coaches feel their chances are with Jernigan. Really couldn't see TJ here with Mickey on board but if they don't feel like TJ is an option they are going after him hard. I just haven't heard LSU is pressing him extremely hard like with CJ or Rasco. That is why I am leaning toward him ending up at Arkansas. Maybe I am wrong but have nothing else to go on.

We could see a push for Hunter if we miss on both.

    I think Rasco is in.

QB Jared Foster as a possible greyshirt. Miles visited him tonight.

TK Fleming is still in the picture.

Many other greyshirt candidates in state.

Yes, I got Mickey and Rasco filling out the rest of the class (along with the 1 or 2 greyshirts bhelm alluded to).

I think we learn from Jernigan that we are out of the picture by the time Friday rolls around.

If we finish with Mickey and Rasco a long with Mettenberger, this class is shaping up very nicely.

You are aware that Mettenberger committed back in early Dec, has signed his LOI, and is already in classes.

But you are right. This class is shaping up nicely.

    Randle
    Johnson
    Collins & Collins
    Landry
    Hilliard
    ODB
    Magee
    Turner

..........and thats just a few. Seems like every single commit is immensely talented. Sure, there are a few standouts, but its really hard to find any one that might be considered to be a let down.

FWIW, Some of the Tennessee mods are saying that the staff told him there would be no room for Mickey at UT and he is likely going to Arkansas.

I agree that there are very few recruits this year that have people shaking their heads. Our weaker recruits have at least the physical size and potential to compete. In the past I could point to a few players that didn't have a real good chance to start and would likely be attrition candidates if they couldn't be a special teams success. Not to pick on anyone, but you knew when we took Calhoun--a straight line, smallish RB with some speed he didn't have much of a chance to start at RB and we already had better prospects at DB. This year our smaller "athletes" have more talent. Offensively, they have enough power and/or can cut and find the hole. Defensively, they can cover and have decent speed. The big boys that aren't top notch have enough size that they are good prospects and may eventually start by the time they graduate.
