It's not hard to imagine. Saban's approach is well-known and successful. He appeals to a players ambitions. He runs a professional program designed to produce professional athletes. He sizes players up for their natural NFL positions. He impresses them with his businesslike manner and they think they will get their best shot a preparing for an NFL career with him. Dad's like to hear this. It's a smart approach because Nick is articulate and stylish, not a warm and fuzzy guy.

    Les is.

Les' approach is a "join or team and become one of the family". He emphasizes a lot of fun and camaraderie and that the team will become a player's home away from home. Moms like this. The assistants work the technical issues and convince players that LSU is a trophy and draft-pick producing team. But Les works the father figure issues and understands that many of these kids are from single-mom families. They want that mentor right now as much as they want that NFL career someday. Les and LSU provide both.
