He sizes players up for their natural NFL positions. He impresses them with his businesslike manner and they think they will get their best shot a preparing for an NFL career with him. Dad's like to hear this. It's a smart approach because Nick is articulate and stylish, not a warm and fuzzy guy. Les is. Les' approach is a "join or team and become one of the family". He emphasizes a lot of fun and camaraderie and that the team will become a player's home away from home. Moms like this. The assistants work the technical issues and convince players that LSU is a trophy and draft-pick producing team. But Les works the father figure issues and understands that many of these kids are from single-mom families. They want that mentor right now as much as they want that NFL career someday. Les and LSU provide both.
