I had the impression LSU wanted OBJ at DB but he is set on the offense side of the ball. I would rather see him on defense IMHO. WR could be a very crowded position. To me he looks like a DB.
He came in for the game last week but still an uphill battle for him to get an offer. Remember the staff is not really getting any additional chances of seeing him compete at CB because he plays LB but they could see some potential and just offer him based on that potential if we have room in the end. However, we just offered CB Andrew Johnson who is committed to Ole Miss. So it seems we still wold take a CB but we still have others higher on our board as of now.
Are we still focusing any effort on Raven? Does anyone think that he is legitimately that much better than our other two CB commits? I mean, you'd think that Rivals Nationally ranked #9 ( Raven ) CB prospect would be a much bigger catch, especially if he's almost a lock, than the #17 CB ( Jenkins ) and especially the #60 CB ( Martin ) I'm sure there are reasons for it. Obviously he had an injury and coaches haven't been able to spend alot of time evaluating him at CB, but he is ranked #9, which means that someone is evaluating him and thinks he's a damn fine catch. Can anyone else tell me why we seem to be passing on him, or are we still interested? Could he be moved to safety?
Not enough CB play to evaluate him. I have no idea why his coach doesn't help his career and just let him play CB to get the offer he wants. I wouldn't say he is better than Jenkins. Rivals is basing his rating off potential because he is a great athlete. I thought he'd fit perfect in this class of DBs we recruited. They're all tweeners that have frames to move to either S/CB. Jenkins I think will be a pure CB though.
Did this guy just commit to Ole Miss last Wednesday? That's what rivals shows. Reading this thread, it sounded like it would have been long before that. Quote the Raven, nevermore.
Yup, Ole Miss last week..........maybe, in a few years, he and CJ can sit and talk about "what might have been"....
