LSU will tell him WR but move him to CB when he gets to LSU. Just like they'll likely do with Fobbs. You sell what they want to hear.

However, I'm sure if he blows it up at WR, they'll have no choice but to keep him there. That likely won't happen though. They usually have a mindset of where they want a kid in a position. Beckham should realize CBs make insane amount of money in the NFL compared to WR. That is something he needs to look at.

He seems to be a big fan of Miami and been waiting for the offer. Going to be a battle but I feel comfortable that he didn't commit on his trip to the U this week. Hopefully the legacy follows his father's footsteps to LSU. I think Miami is the only team we have to worry about.

Some are saying hes going to commit to Miami soon. I hope he holds out and at least makes it to our camp next month.

Hoping hes just playing the game and commits to LSU. Hes been to a lot of camps lately for exposure.

I think this guy is set on Miami...

Anyone know if he has plans to make the July camp? He talks Miami up so much but still hasn't committed. I'm guessing hes just making sure of his choice right now. That leads me to believe once he commits, his recruitment is done. Wonder if his dad is giving him pressure to LSU?

We really need this guy. Great, versatile athlete that can play multiple positions.

He has plans to be at the July camp and I do think Miami leads at this time. I would say it depends on when he makes a decision. The longer it goes I think it is LSU and if he commits to Miami early I wouldn't count LSU out either. I have heard his parents would rather him stay close to home but I am sure it is something they are still feeling out. Big Miami fan but gets harder and harder to leave home as NSD approaches and family allegiances should help.

Plus there is also a concern about the WRs Miami already has committed who are very similar in stature to Beckham.

Yea they have a logjam at that type of receiver and i think he should look at the depth chart before making an emotional decision, Shannon has made that program respectable as far as discipline but his football coaching needs alot of work.

He is really torn between LSU and Miami. Coming down to the Maimi life vs LSU is just home and with his family.

After the camp I think he is leaning toward LSU and all of his friends committed.

    2011 ATH ODell Beckham Jr

New Orleans (LA) Isidore Newman School four-star athlete Odell Beckham is a tough guy to track down on the field.

    And off it.

In his first interview with a Rivals.com site since June, Beckham was concise and to the point.

Asked if he's still strongly considering the Hurricanes, the 6-foot-0, 190-pounder said, "Yes. It's LSU and Miami really. Neither leads right now."

He says he "doesn't know" when he'll make a final decision and has "no idea when" he might visit UM again - he previously was in Miami in June, earning Randy Shannon Summer Camp MVP honors.

Beckham's primary recruiter at UM is Aubrey Hill, and asked about their relationship all the speedster will offer up is that "it's a good relationship."

He says distance won't be a factor, but then minutes later says of LSU that he "Likes that it's home - I'm closer to LSU than Miami."

Of what UM has going for it he says "I just like their whole program, the history of it."

What's are the most important aspects he's looking for in a college?

"Just where I fit best," he says.

Beckham's coach, Nelson Stewart, says his star player can be a game changer at the next level.

"He's a special player," Stewart said. "He's an athlete, a great returner, a lock down corner. We think he can be an exceptional wide receiver - he's a great route runner, catches the ball well. He changes direction well. He could be a receiver or cornerback (in college) - he's a true athlete. He's a great leaper.

"I know he loves Miami. He has loved Miami since he was a little boy. That was one of the schools he asked me to send film to. While he loves LSU, he'll look across the country, and Miami's one he definitely likes

Newman destroys De La Salle 40-0 behind Beckham who led the Greenies with five receptions for 82 yards, catching scoring passes of 2 and 19 yards, and he had a 53-yard punt return and an 81-yard free kick return.
