I believe Coach Lorio was quoted in a Rivals article and the Auburn fans are not happy with him. I don't focus too much on quotes while someone is committed to another program especially when those quotes were given right before his official visit to Auburn. I am not getting my hopes too high but there has been some other bits of info leaking out from a couple of weeks ago that I can't get into. Reed is not visiting us as a courtesy. He is very much listening to what LSU has to offer and the staff is doing a great job. As for DT, watch for the Evangel DT Brandon Jackson.
Hey Bhelm, is Byran Jones on LSU's radar. 4* DT (rivals) out of North LA, goes to Junction City, AR school. Lives right up the road from me, was just curious since you added Brandon Jackson into the mix.
Probably the same things I want to say about this coach but I am not. I have never heard anything negative about Lorio. I know he is an LSU fan but that comes with the territory.
We recruited him a little in the beginning but he didn't get into his recruitment much with any program early on and LSU never offered. Maybe something happens but it is probably not going to happen because it is late and still hasn't showed much interest.
that vid is hilarious....I wish they would move up signing day or offer an early signing period that way you would know who is serious and who is fake. The exceptions to get out of your L.O.I. would be head coach changes and family death or serious illness.
"Too little, too late" makes it sound like you think we weren't recruiting Reed that hard in the first place. If LSU didn't want Reed that much, then Reed isn't that good and Auburn had to settle for a second-class player. But the reality is that Reed is a first-class recruit and LSU has been on him hard the whole time to commit to us. Based on his quotes, he feel in love with the family-vibe at Auburn and it feels like home to him. As an Auburn fan, you should be proud of that. My favorite recruits are the ones that fall in love with LSU like Reed did with Auburn. Reed's quotes remind me of myself coming out of high school. Like Reed said, he never imagined a year ago that he'd fall in love with Auburn. I was the same, way... even though I was raised in Louisiana and was an LSU sports fan, I didn't think I was going to go to LSU for college. I had offers to go to better academic academic institutions. But, after visiting all of them and visiting LSU... I fell in love with LSU for many of the same reasons Reed says he feel in love with Auburn.
I wasn't trying to insinuate that LSU never wanted him. But perhaps because of guys they already had committed, they hadn't made quite as hard a push as they are right now and that it's probably too late to change his mind now. Of course, you may be right...he simply likes Auburn and no amount of depth charts and persuading from his HS coach will change things. Kids fall in love with a school for a lot of reasons and that's just how it is.
