The LSU coaches have WANTED HIM in this class the whole time and they never let up on him. Even his high school football coach is a huge LSU fan and has been on him the whole time to go to LSU. He's visited LSU many times and has been scheduled to visit us again this weekend for a while now.

The problem is that Reed feel in love with Auburn and thinks it is paradise for some reason. If you read a few pages back, you can read quotes from Reed saying he's telling other recruits how great Auburn is, such as "I was just telling them how great it is at Auburn...great facilities, great campus, great everything" and "I am just telling these guys that you just don't know what Auburn is like until you have spent some quality time [at Auburn just like] I did" and how "Before this year, I never would have thought I would commit to Auburn."

I saw all the people in this thread talking about Reed feels like he is best friends with the coaches at Auburn, how they feel like "family," how he said "I love those guys...especially Coach Chizik, Coach Malzahn and Coach Troop" and how he said "If any of the Auburn coaches don't leave then Auburn's my home for the next four years."

Here's an ESPN article that goes more in depth regarding why he loves them so much:

Reed said he felt something special about Auburn from the first time he visited last spring....Reed said it was the family feeling he got at Auburn -- from wide receivers coach Trooper Taylor, from recruiting coach Curtis Luper, from head coach Gene Chizik, from the players, from the fans. "They treat me like family," Reed said. "When I walked into Coach Trooper's office, he had 'Trooper's family.' It was his family and all his receivers. They do everything at his house. They have keys to his house. That's like family. That's like me going to my sister's house."

As for Reed's mentor, Sean Nelson, he said: "I love Auburn," Nelson said. "It may have been my second or third time up there, I was on the last stretch coming from Montgomery. I said 'Man, it feels like I'm going home." "It's just a family vibe. Read other articles and you'll see every kid says the same thing. Coach Trooper, Lupe, Coach Chiz, Coach (Gus) Malzahn, it's a friendly place. It reminds you of Thibodaux in a way.

    So he was no help.

His high school football coach said: "I coached at LSU for three years," he said. "Eddie Kennison was there. They have the same burst, the same vision, the same sideways movement. Trovon's hands are probably a little better than Eddie's and Eddie played in the NFL for about 12 years... I will support [Reed] every year he's at Auburn. I will support LSU for life."

Also, someone above posted how Reed said: "You don't see the people in the state of Alabama making a big deal when guys go to LSU."

This quote is similar to that:

"It's hard, but you have to do what you want to do," Reed said. "People that are mad at me are just diehard LSU fans. What about the people that come from out of town to come to LSU? That's how I feel about the whole thing."

So again why is he coming to LSU this weekend ?
So he can recruit players to play at Auburn.
I wish the kid the best, I understand sometimes kids want to go somewhere different. I did.
But from an LSU perspective what good is it having him on campus this weekend with other recruits ?

I am sorry guys but LSU has no chance at this guy. Thats O.K. not a big deal.

No one is saying he is definitely going to switch but to say LSU is completely out is false. There has been some encouraging news the last couple of weeks that will leak out eventually.

Like any recruit don't get too caught up into quotes at this stage of the game in recruiting. We see it continuously. Reed really likes Wilson and BG and we are not invited him to campus thinking we have no shot. This is not a courtesy visit.

If he feels comfortable because Trooper gave him keys to his house, maybe we should do like USC and make him comfortable by giving him keys to a Humvee or something.:hihi:.

Good news all around. Same thing I have been saying about LSU doing a great job and Reed is listening and responding. His HS coach said he has a tough decision to make ahead of him.

Great visit all around and Reed is looking forward to the weekend.

Blem, where did you hear the HS coach stuff?

Are you getting your hopes up for him to switch?

Reading some of his recent quotes, I don't see much hope in him switching...seems pretty confident and comfortable with AU...

I hope to hear some Big DT makes a suprise to Lsu

    we need it
