Gore? 5ft 8in tall & 175# with 4.60 speed according to Scout. Thats kinda small for a SEC back isn't it? At first I thought he was a scatback but I see thats not the case... If we are gonna go small at least get a burner.. Am I wrong?
Rivals has him at 5'9 and I would say he has closer to 4.5 speed and he plays fast based on his film. Here is a good breakdown on Gore from Rivals: Jakhari Gore - Yahoo! Sports
If Gore is 4.6 in the 40, then he's playing against VERY slow defenses. His film makes him look like 4.4.
How a kid from Thibodaux would want to go to Auburn is beyond comprehension. I've read where he's supposedly scared of competition. I usually take that with a grain of salt but I'm starting to believe it with this one. Lafourche Parish has always been greatly loyal to LSU and has produced some fantastic Tigers. Why this kid would pass on being treated like royalty in Thibodaux for the plains of Alabama is just baffling to me. I hated losing Joe McKnight but at least losing him to USC doesn't directly hurt or affect LSU. Losing Reed to Auburn does, so this one really bothers me.
Being scared of competition and wanting to make an impact as a freshman are completely different things, IMO.
:geaux: He's made his choice for Auburn. I say let's forget about him and move on. He's history. :LSU231:
It has nothing to do with competition. Trooper Taylor really built a significant relationship with this kid as he went through the loss of his mother. Auburn's fan support also impressed him compared to LSU fans' support.
